Wouldn’t recommend, none of the agents can give a straight answer. They can’t explain anything on your plan. You can’t understand all the foreigners and nobody speaks clear English. They dont even cover birth control pills like every single other insurance does. A very small list, and expects you to switch after being on one for years that finally works. It shows your benefits cover an office visit but then it doesn’t and you have to submit your claim over and over before they finally pay. It’s a mess and takes hours on the phone to get a clear straight answer. Not a good company at all. Go with BCBS

UHC STOPS AARP/UHC MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTAL HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE. This LIFE-THREATENING, FINANCIALLY DEVASTING NO AARP UNITED HEALTH CARE (UHC) MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTAL HEALTH INSURANCE HAPPENS BECAUSE UHC CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS are untrained or do not know what's required to insure your coverage continues. When monthly premium(s) are not accepted/not paid according to UHC, UHC WILL NOT TELL YOU via EMAIL, A CALL, OR TEXT that YOUR COVERAGE STOPS DUE TO NONPAYMENT. UHC says you have a 30-day 'grace period' to make payment'; this is not true all the time. My one-time payments two months in a row were recorded as paid by UHC and then reversed; THIS MEANT I HAD NO COVERAGE - I checked online the following day after payments and saw the payment received but did not check 5 days later after each repeated one-time payments to be sure I was insured. Altogether the time period exceeded the 30-day 'grace period'! If you stop payment due to a bank account issue (hacking or cash-flow/timing) with your bank stopping payment AARP/UHC, UHC online premium payment records show payment and then UHC reverses the payment about 5 days later if your bank continues to stop all UHC payments. All UHC and AARP INSURED CLIENTS MUST KNOW THAT YOU THE INSURED MUST TELL your BANK TO LIFT THE 'STOP PAYMENT'; UHC REPS DO NOT KNOW THIS AND WILL NOT TELL YOU. UHC reps assure you are insured and not to worry because the 30-day payment 'grace period' is in force and covers you. UHC IS NOT PROTECTING ITS AARP-INSURED CLIENTS; UHC is a potentially life-threatening and financially-devasting health insurance provider. In the worse case, UHC may cause death and drain all your financial resources leaving you penniless - in poverty! I chose Plan G. If I could I would rate AARP/UHC health coverage a negative infinitiy.

UHC presents their dental policy with free preventive care but read the fine lines and there's a $1,500 cap so if you had a dental implant your preventive care is not covered. This is so wrong!

The OTC provider is terrible. Many products are backordered but they don't tell you unless you call. It can take weeks or months to get orders. They won't even consider a refund for 12 business days. The call center is understaffed and overburdened so hold times even when asking for a supervisor is almost an hour.

I'm autistic. I called Unitedhealthcare to ask about Autism services. They paired me with an "advocate". She basically told me that she's been a nurse for over 30 years and my symptoms aren't bad enough for any coverage of services offered. Because "I was having a conversation with her" and "I have children" so I am clearly "an able caretaker." It was never her job to diagnose me. I have a doctor for that. It was extremely inappropriate. I have level 1 ASD, or what used to be called asbergers. Just because I'm eloquent doesn't mean I don't desperately need medical support. I understand if United doesn't offer certain things, but there is no excuse for the way she spoke to me, seemingly dismissing my autism. It was ableist and ignorant. She tried to educate me about how other people with ASD need help speaking and other such things. Obviously. I've been researching ASD for years. I know I'm privileged being level 1, but I also go nonverbal for days and suffer from severe selective mutism. Just politely say there's nothing they can do according to my policy instead of rattling on about things that you clearly don't understand.

I had a tooth with a piece missing at the top, sensitive to cold, and necessary to hold my partial bridge in. I received a paper from United Healthcare showing they paid $1100+ and I paid the balance. Now my dentist says United Healthcare will not pay and I owe the balance, over $1100. I got an explanation in the mail that they do not cover services for the effects of tooth wear or erosion. I am in my 70’s so of course my teeth have “wear”. This is the first claim I have with this so-called health insurance company. Definitely choosing a new insurer in the upcoming open enrollment period. After this experience with them refusing to pay anything toward a crown, I understand why I was told by so many dentists that United Healthcare was not accepted at their practices. The max dental benefit is only $1100 a year so it is not like I was putting in a claim for thousands. The literature I got from them when signing up said they pay for “restoratative services. Stay away from this lying company.

United Health Care hires some of the most incompetent people in the work force. I have been trying to get a gym nominated for inclusion in the Renew Active program for 4 months and these imbeciles can't get their collective heads out of their rectums long enough to get anything done. Unbelievable! UHC is the worst!

Pay a premium price for sub-standard care! UHC is putting small hospitals out of business by demanding lower prices than the hospital’s costs to operate. UHC refused to negotiate in good faith with the hospital system in North Georgia, which forces its patients to drive an hour away to receive care at a sub-standard hospital. This is not what we paid a great deal of money for! Since UHC is the “biggest bully” on the block, they feel they can demand whatever terms they want and have hospitals (including non-profit hospitals that offer indigent care) accept their terms, or they walk. This includes being able to change their pricing demands at any time during the contract. They also lost ALL of my claims from last year, and it took me hundreds of hours to try to get them back. I am sure many are still missing. Very, very poorly run company that doesn’t care about their customers, or other hospitals. We have been with UHC for over 20 years, and within the last 3 years, their customer service has fallen to the bottom of the pile. There is no customer service! Save your money and go with a reputable healthcare company. Hopefully this one won’t be in business for long.
