I am completely disgusted with United Healthcare. Myself and my husband own a landscaping company. We were on a property in Liverpool, New York mowing when this young man pulled up in a SUV. He proceeded to yell at my husband, who was trimming the lawn, that he could not hear the customer, who was standing at the front door. This lady just had hip surgery, and the young man was sent by United Healthcare to transport her to her Dr appointment. This idiot stood at the front of the house, at the bottom of three stairs, waiting for Kathy to come out of the house and tackle the stairs on her own. He did not offer any assistance. My husband went and helped her down the stairs. At this point myself and my husband helped to get her to the SUV. She could not get in the SUV due to the height of the step to enter the vehicle. The young man offered no assistance and when he was told she could not get in the vehicle, he left. HE LEFT THE DRIVEWAY LEAVING HER OUTSIDE AFTER HIP SURGERY HELPLESS. If my husband and I were not there mowing she never would have gotten back in the house. I am completely disgusted with the young man they sent to transport Kathy. His lack of empathy and failure to even offer his arm to Kathy when she was clearly in pain is disgusting. He should be immediately fired and I regret not getting his name.

I’ve had one of the worst experiences with UnitedHealthcare. My doctor has filed appeal after appeal — at least five times since July — for a medication I urgently need. Every time I call, I’m told they haven’t received the medical records, even though my doctor’s office has sent them repeatedly. I am now paying out-of-pocket up to $1,050 per month for a medication that should cost $44. It feels like I’m being lied to and ignored while my health suffers.

This company has the most ridiculous customer service I have EVER dealt with. Just spent 2 hours, yes TWO HOURS trying to get help with a simple issue and was transferred 5 times, put on hold off and on for two hours and they resolved absolutely NOTHING. I know this insurance is for lower income people, but the fact that they put me through this is HORRENDOUS. If I did not have to keep using them at this point, I would dump this insurance in a hot minute due to the fact that you cannot get anywhere with them and in the end they offer no assitance.

My wife was recently prescribed a tier 4 drug for health-related problems. The doctor gave us the choice of 3 different drugs, and we visited UHC website to research each one and cost. We determined that one drug had a much lower cost to us and we asked her doctor to prescribe this drug. The total cost on the website was show as $176, plan was to pay $132 with final cost of $44 to us. When contacted the pharmacy we were told that the cost to us would be $137 and the insurance was not paying any of the cost. I contacted UHC and when I enquired about the cost, the customer service rep informed me that it was a tier 4 drug, and we had a 25% copay through our plan. I tried to explain to her that we had paid 100% of the cost but was unable to make her understand that according to the pharmacy, UHC denied coverage of any of the cost. I spent 1 hour and 10 minutes on the phone with this person and heard nothing but lame excuses and incompetence about the insurance plan. She seemed to not understand simple math when discussing the cost to us. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she put me on hold. After 25 minutes with no answer or further contact from UHC, I hung up. Terrible customer service experience. Shame on our previous employer for contracting such a company to provide insurance for their retirees.

My husband and I put in an Application on or about August 13th for one of their Medicare advantage plans. Over 30 days and still no response for my husband. Every time I called it is a new excuse of why the application was processed. First it was no application seen, then it was couldn't talk to me for address given didn't match what they had, then on 3 different occasions, we were told the application was escalated to a supervisor and it would take 5 days to resolve. On the 25th day and still no resolution. Again escalated and need 5 more days. This is the worst experience ever. I was warned they had horrible customer service and could not resolve complaints within a reasonable amount of time if at all. Go with this company at your peril. If I could give a negative rating, they would get it.

I was texting with Akram I wanted my premium amount for 2026… he insisted it was zero… this guy is clueless

I've had a United Health Care account for years and was able access it without problems until recently when my ID and/or PW (of record) were rejected. I then tried the various possibilities suggested on the site, without success. I managed to get a phone number to call and was informed my account had been blocked, though there was no warning. My call was transferred twice and finally my third interlocutor asked me a number of questions to confirm my identity, which I failed as I was told. The call took over 47 minutes. Thoug a subsequent call, I had my old Skype number changed to a new one. Another probem is that UHC now uses a new sign in method based on the member's UHC card number insted of user name. Yet, that process gets me nowhere. I then called UHC numbers (877-699-5710 and 844-220-2307) several times. Each time my number is recognized and I'm greeted by my first name but, after indicating my call is in regards to UHC website, they respond "were sorry we are now closed, but please call at another time"

I simply inquired about grocery card benefit. After informing agent that I did not want to enroll in any program that would deduct payments from my SS check. He assured me that would not happen. then four days later was sent letter saying they received my request to have insurance payments deducted from my ss check. then had to threaten to sue them for fraud to get unrolled from their billing and have issue resolved. I was lied to, to get put in their system. In my opinion they are misleading in the least and outright fraudulent at the worst. My advice to any seniors who read this do not attempt to do business with this company, they will take you for whatever they can get away with.
