Worst insurance company I ever dealt with. I have been lied to multiple times. All of a sudden they are denying meds they have always covered in the past. I was told by UHC to have my dr order 90 day supply of med to get me closer to out of pocket and they would only authorize 30 day supply. They told me to have dr send in pre authorization to fill a med they have been filling no problem, now it is denied. So my health will be affected by meds they are denying me. UHC lied to me about my policy when it was enrollment time or I would have switched companies right then and there. I have dealt with rude employees there, as a matter of fact they called me today, had me verify my info and then asked me to give them same information and when I said something about that they hung up on me.

I had UHC for 6 months until they pulled out of our county. No reason why but I would guess they were losing money here. I know they don't care what consumers think or feel but they've absolutely made my life a living hell dealing with my health issues. Horrible company, horrible ethics and incompetent employees. Their processes and communication are also a nightmare. Shame on you...people shouldn't have to deal with this on top of the stress of whatever health issue they're dealing with, especially with how much money I had to dish out to them.

Those motor city douchebags need to go and be disbanded because I don't want them involved with me or my family anymore making me have to jump thru a hoop to get my tax returns such bs

Unfortunately we signed up with UHC in June of 2025. We have health, pharmacy, dental vision and hearing. I went to great lengths to determine that our prescriptions would be covered and our physicians and preferred pharmacy would be “in network”. We didn’t need any prescriptions for quite a while and as soon as we did we found out that it was cheaper to pay the cash price! Optum Perks is what they have named their prescription service. My wife contracted Covid and of the 4 prescriptions given by her physician, they refused to cover 2 of them. The other two would cost us $200 to be filled ( antibiotic, steroid). E happened to use Good tax and the total cost was $80. This is only the most recent issue. We have had issues with routine doctor visits being declined and have had to pay for everything up front. This when we were told that we would have $25 and $40 copays. From my experience don’t use this company.

Terrible service. Both UHC and OPTUM. I dread calling them. For 2 years, I have had problems getting my prescriptions. They talk your head off with politeness, then lie about sending my prescriptions. Worthless.

The epitome of evil!!! The biggest SCAM I have ever dealt with. My company switched insurers from Cigna to United Health Care in May 2025 and United have been a nightmare! After absolutely every medical appointment and every dental appointment we have attended, we get notifications months later saying they will not cover any of the costs. Each procedure and each visit gets its own 13-page letter saying the payment was rejected and going into great detail about how long you have to dispute it and listing their ridiculous reason for rejection and what to do, in multiple languages. Rejected a child's annual dental cleaning, rejected another child's removal of impacted wisdom teeth months after they were removed. EVERY PRESCRIPTION DENIED - Ventolin (lifelong asthmatic), Metformin (Diabetes medicine, taken for years and never had a problem getting before). We stopped using United in October and will never ever ever use them again for any reason whatsoever! Every time we go into the doctor's or dentist's office to ask why the rejections and we say our insurance is United Healthcare, they physically groan with exasperation and nod because they hear this all the time. Of all the scams being outed by the current regime - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go after United Health Care and return all the money we spent for overpriced insurance that covered nothing. These thieves should all be in jail.
