No one knows what they're doing
First I was allowed Chiropractic care. I completed my initial visits and they paid the chiropractor. When I had to go back for more treatments, they approved 6 treatments. I scheduled all 6 visits, then after the second or third, I was told that my visits were denied. I've called about 6 or 7 times trying to get to the bottom of this, and was told each time not to worry, the advocate who was helping me found the letter stating that I have authorization for the 6 visits. Each time I called I was told the same thing. Finally my chiropractic clinic let me know I had to pay for the six visits since she was told that I no longer have chiropractic care. I called again and was told that I have chiropractic care and the claims were submitted incorrectly by their team and this person would resubmit the claims correctly. Now, I'm having sever knee pain. Went to see an orthopedic doctor who took x-rays and said I have arthritis and need to have my knee joints cushioned with jell. I found out that my cost with insurance will be over $400 for the jell, so I wanted to make sure my insurance would cover the cost for the injections if I purchase the jell. Now I'm back on the phone with UHC trying to get authorization. The advocate who's helping me has no idea if they'll cover the cost of the doctor performing the injections and advised that I contact the doctors office.
