I sent in an application and never received a response from the "landlord". And there was no way to contact the "Landlord" through their site (except to send an email, that was never responded to)I told turbo about it and their attitude was we don't give refunds. In my opinion the platform makes it too easy for people to post false properties just to collect "application fees".

Wrong Tenant screening report
This is a response to TurboTenant’s reply to my review dated December 1, 2025,
Thank you for responding, but the explanation you provided doesn’t match the facts or the public court record.
The eviction case for this applicant was not dismissed, and it was not sealed. It was an active eviction filing with publicly accessible records at the time the screening report was generated on June 5, 2025. The sealing law didn’t take effect until July 1, 2025, and even under that law, this case does not qualify for automatic suppression.
Your reply also states that “only eviction convictions can be included,” but eviction cases do not have “convictions.” They are civil filings. Standard tenant screening reports routinely include eviction filings and judgments, not criminal convictions.
Your reply stated that my formal complaint was “escalated internally” and that someone would contact me within two (2) business days.
It has now been more than four (4) business days, and no one has contacted me. That follow-up has still not happened.

I’m a landlord who tried TurboTenant and give it thumbs down!
I’m a landlord who tried TurboTenant because they advertise “free” listings, but the experience has been frustrating and disappointing from the start.
Support is basically nonexistent unless you pay.
The free version only gives you an automated bot, which is useless. My listing never went live after two days, and I couldn’t reach an actual human. I finally paid the $119 for “premium support” just to get someone to look into it.
When I asked why my property wasn’t posted, they told me they were “waiting for the validations department” to confirm I was the property owner—even though I had already uploaded clear proof of ownership. No explanation and no clear timeline.
The listing exposure was also extremely poor.
My property is well-priced, and I’m getting steady inquiries from Zillow and Facebook Marketplace. Yet I received only one inquiry from TurboTenant in three weeks. Their marketing claims simply don’t match the real-world results.
Trying to cancel auto-renewal created another headache.
The mobile app doesn’t show the option, and after three emails back and forth, support kept directing me to screens that don’t exist on mobile. I finally logged in on my laptop and found the page they meant—but when I tried to turn off auto-renew, the system wouldn’t let me because I had an “active subscription.” That logic makes no sense, and it left me feeling stuck.
A support agent has now offered to manually deactivate auto-renewal on their end, so at least I won’t need to cancel my credit card—but this should not be such a difficult process.
Overall, TurboTenant has been an expensive waste of time and money.
The software is clunky, support is slow and confusing, and the listing performance is far worse than every other platform I use. I strongly recommend landlords look elsewhere.

Thanks for sharing your feedback, and we’re truly sorry for the frustration you experienced. Our support always begins with our AI assistant, but any request to speak with a human is routed to our team, who work seven days a week—so delays like the one you described are unusual and something we’re reviewing.
Lead volume can vary widely based on factors like market conditions and listing details, even though our advertised averages come from real user data. We also understand that locating the auto-renewal settings can feel unintuitive, and we’re glad our team was able to help you get that resolved. Your experience isn’t what we aim for, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it so we can continue improving.

I paid $55.00 for an application fee to…
I paid $55.00 for an application fee to Turbo Tenant, only to find out that the property was already rented. I contacted Turbo Tenant within 30 minutes to explain the situation. They assured me that they would consider giving me a refund do to the circumstances, but two days later refused to do so. As a potential renter there is no way of knowing if a property is still available when it is listed. Turbo Tenant should be willing to refund the application fee in situations like this.
Response from TurboTenantDec 4, 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m sorry for the frustration this situation caused. When a renter requests a refund, we ask them to complete our refund request form so our team can review all the details before making a decision. While we can’t guarantee refunds in advance, we do carefully evaluate each request, and in some cases refunds are not approved. We understand how disappointing that can be, and we appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback—it helps us continue improving the experience for renters.

Glitchy website and awful customer service
This website is glitchy and the customer service is terrible. I am a tenant/applicant and the application page would not save many of my answers, I had to update my application several times to make the answers stick. I have not been able to submit the application to the landlord because of a flaw in the website's system. I reached out to customer support and it seemed like I was going to be able to make progress, but then they closed out my conversation with them when I didn't respond within 5 hours because I was at work. Terrible.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m truly sorry for the frustration this caused. What you’re describing isn’t the experience we want for applicants.
Our team did engage with your support request, but the conversation was automatically closed after a period of inactivity, which can happen if we don’t hear back, though we understand that many applicants are at work and can’t reply right away. You’re always welcome to reopen the conversation or start a new one, and our team is happy to continue helping.
We’ve also flagged the issue you experienced with your application not saving properly so we can investigate further and ensure you’re able to submit it without barriers.

I started with the intro paid account…
I started with the intro paid account to "test the waters", but immediately ran into issues. After paying One-Hundred and Twenty Dollars for the service, I tried to create an ad and was limited to one thousand characters or less. This meant I had to cut a substantial portion of my narration out and there was no other way to supplement that information without paying for a more expensive account. The other issue was the pictures were limited to twenty, upon initial creation of the ad. You could add more, but you had to complete the process, THEN come back and add more pics. I didn't waste my time going back. I have used ALL of the free services and found them superior. No word or pic limits, all of the accounting needs I have required, service requests from the tenants, online payments, and the background checks of the free account I used (Apartments.com) has been FAR superior to anything else I have found. Lease creation, with state specific suggestions, etc. are all included FOR FREE! Not to mention some of the best customer service I found for any product anywhere. This was a monstrous disappointment and a HUGE waste of my hard earned One-Hundred and Twenty Dollars.
Reply to below response.
I asked for my money back, but you wouldn't do that so , no, I will not return to your over-priced and limited service.

Hi John, thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. We’re really sorry that your first experience with the listing flow wasn’t what you hoped for, especially after upgrading to try things out.
TurboTenant does currently have a 1,000-character listing description field, and many landlords use our built-in AI description tool to get the most important details into that space without losing clarity. We’re also reviewing ways to streamline the initial photo-upload step, so your notes here are genuinely helpful.
If you’d like, our team is more than happy to walk you through the listing setup to make sure everything looks the way you want. Just email [email protected] and we’ll take care of you.

Appalling that I was deceptively…
Appalling that I was deceptively redirected to this site for an application to a rental property. This was not how the property owner set it up and not how he was accepting applications. I requested a refund and have been basically told no, file a form and we’ll get back to you in 10 business days. Unacceptable. All via AI

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever, you can not talk to a human being, no email responses and holds your money instead of sending right to landlord, also charges $177 extra just to process a payment which is ridiculous and excessive. Would not recommend Turbo Tenant to anyone.
Response from TurboTenantJul 22, 2025
Hi Shawnta! We were able to clear up the issue :) This was due to a mismatch in the cardholder name, which required a manual review for security purposes. We know how important timely payments are, and our team worked quickly to resolve it once identified. If you have any other questions or concerns, we're here to help. Thank you!
