$800 to move 2 miles. Wasn't even that much stuff!
Turbotenant wanted to charge me almost 800 dollars to move a bed, tv, TV stand and a fw miscellaneous items. The move was TWO MILES AWAY! $800 to for 2 hours of work? They're not worth the price at all!! Never use this service unless you're a millionaire. I can move my stuff for free in the same amount of time and save $800, thank you very much.

I cannot recommend Turbotenant as a renter. There has been zero communication from them while submitting applications. Their help desk is not organized or helpful. I've received different information from different agents and they dont seem to keep their listing updated. Letting not available ones stay live after they've been filled.

Hi Landon, we're sorry to hear your experience didn't meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be when you're searching for a rental. While TurboTenant provides the platform landlords use to manage their listings, landlords are responsible for updating listing availability and communicating with prospective renters. We appreciate your feedback and would like the opportunity to review your experience. Please email [email protected] with the email address associated with your account so our team can look into it further.

Before I could even gain access to my account, it was suspended. I logged an appeal and then got an email to verify my identity. Since I don't have a camera, I rang the number provided which went to voicemail. I'm now waiting for a call back, but if this is what using their system entails, perhaps it's not the best route.
Response from TurboTenantAug 2, 2026
Hi Steve, we're sorry your first experience with TurboTenant started this way. We understand that account verification can be an inconvenience, but it's an important part of keeping our platform secure for landlords and renters alike.
We appreciate your cooperation throughout the appeal process, and we're glad our team was able to review your case and restore access within the timeframe originally communicated!

Somehow I got stuck in their auto renewal and when I requested a refund they had me submit a form which they directly denied. Total crap. Their leases are ok and being able to have tenants sign online is good. But customer service is extraordinarily poor. Buyer be ware.

Hi Jesse, we're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. We understand that subscription renewals and refund requests can be frustrating.
Our team reviews every refund request in accordance with our subscription and refund policies, and while we aren't able to approve every request, each is carefully considered. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team as we continue working to improve the customer experience.

From a renter's point of view..
From a renter's point of view... they require bank statement, etc but do not allow for the redacting of important personal information. For example, when i receive payment or make one, codes are put near the payment on my statement or, what i spend my money on... all should be able to redact it...you cannot. if you redact it, they say it was fraud... that is what i was accused of for redacting codes next to my income..just that, the codes. I think this needs to be stopped by government or, how can any protect himself in anything? The proof of income is there but, they want to see everything and that's just about as unAmerican as it gets.
Response from TurboTenantJul 30, 2026
Hi Jeff, we're sorry to hear about your experience. We understand your concerns about protecting your personal information. When financial documents are submitted for verification, they must remain unaltered so they can be reviewed and authenticated. Redacting or modifying information can prevent the document from being verified, even when the changes seem unrelated to income.
We'd like the opportunity to review the response you received and ensure everything was handled appropriately. Please email [email protected] with the email address associated with your application so our team can take a closer look.

Insane business practice
Insane business practice. Apply for a house and never get a response from the landlord. Turbo collects $55 per applicant and that’s it. The landlord can never respond or make a decision on your application and keep the money. Try reaching out to the landlord with the given phone number and its won’t dial through. Seems like Turbo is allowing fake listings and pocketing the application fees.

Hi Ryan, we're sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating it is to submit a screening request and not receive a response from a landlord.
TurboTenant provides the software that landlords use to market and manage their rentals, but individual landlords are responsible for reviewing applications and communicating with prospective tenants. While we can't require a landlord to respond, we do take reports of potential issues seriously and would like the opportunity to investigate your experience.
Please email us at [email protected] with the email address associated with your application and the property you applied to so our team can review what happened. We look forward to hearing from you.

Please avoid this business
I have always paid my rent on time or early. My landlord signed up for us to pay through this app and this was the first month doing so (July 2026). I had already set it up prior to rent being due. I added my debit card and my bank account. When my rent bill came in I went to pay and noticed there was a $73 fee for using my debit card and no fee for my bank account so I backed out and went to pay through my bank account. It kept saying “insufficient funds” even though there was more than enough funds. So I did what I know to do and that was to delete my bank information and then re-add it. I then went back to the payment page and it still said “insufficient funds” and somehow in the process of figuring out what in the world was going on I got a message that said thank you for your payment and it charged my debit card my rent plus $73 so I immediately and frantically went looking for a cancel button. There is no cancel button and the AI generated response to any email that I sent said that “There are no refunds on anything. Sorry about your luck. If you want us to help you set up your bank account we will.” I didn’t need help setting up my bank account. I needed my bank account to work on that app. I would rather go get a book of checks and take a check to my landlord every single month over using this app ever again. It can’t be much better for landlords And property managers either.
The way I see it my experience paired with so many other people‘s experience with getting scammed out of application fees and what not I don’t think this business is worth using.

Delayed Payment
I've used TurboTenant since 2025 and have generally been satisfied with the platform, but I recently experienced an issue that every landlord should be aware of.
I turned over one of my rental properties and the incoming ACH payment for the first month's rent and security deposit exceeded $10,000. The tenant completed TurboTenant's screening process, signed the lease, and submitted payment through the platform. The ACH payment was successfully withdrawn from the tenant's bank account and settled. However, TurboTenant then held the funds for approximately 9 days before releasing them to my linked bank account.
This was particularly frustrating because I pay for TurboTenant's Premium service, including expedited ACH processing. As landlords know, timing matters. Many of us need confirmation that funds have been received before countersigning a lease, turning over possession of a property, paying contractors, or making mortgage payments. A lengthy hold can create unnecessary financial and operational challenges.
If TurboTenant was concerned about fraud, there were better ways to handle the situation. They could have disclosed upfront that payments exceeding a certain amount may be subject to extended review, notified both parties before accepting the transaction, requested additional verification, or provided a clear explanation and expected release date. Instead, the payment was accepted, the tenant's account was debited, and the landlord was left waiting more than a week for access to funds without meaningful advance notice.
Fraud prevention is important, and reasonable verification procedures are understandable. What is not reasonable is withholding funds after they have been collected without clearly disclosing the possibility of a prolonged hold before the transaction occurs. A simple notice such as, "Payments exceeding $10,000 may be held for up to 10 business days for verification purposes," would allow landlords and tenants to plan accordingly and avoid surprises.
My advice to fellow landlords: if a rent and security deposit payment will exceed $10,000, consider requesting a cashier's check, wire transfer, or a direct ACH transfer to your bank. Do not assume that paying for expedited ACH processing means large transactions will be available immediately.
Learn from my experience and plan ahead. A delayed payment can create real problems, and in the wrong circumstances, it could even jeopardize a lease transaction.

Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback and for being a TurboTenant customer since 2025.
We understand how frustrating it can be when a payment delay impacts important milestones like lease execution, possession timelines, contractor payments, and other operational responsibilities. We recognize that predictability matters, especially when managing larger transactions.
To help protect both landlords and renters, certain payments may be subject to additional review as part of our fraud prevention protocols. These safeguards are designed to maintain the security and integrity of our platform, though we understand that the timing and communication around these reviews can be challenging.
We appreciate your feedback regarding clearer expectations for large transactions and advance notice when additional verification may be required. Insights like these are valuable, and we've shared them internally as we continue to improve the experience for our customers.
Thank you again for taking the time to provide thoughtful feedback and for trusting TurboTenant with your business.
