Medical practitioner vs psychologist/therapist.
The reason that I’m rating this as a 3 out of 5 is based on the fact that I thought that my initial interaction would be with a therapist, or with a psychologist of some sort to better suit the reasoning for me reaching out and starting this program. Do I appreciate the fact that I spoke with a nurse practitioner who was able to blindly evaluate what antidepressants or anxiety medicine I may need, well yes. However, I feel like an initial therapy session with somebody who’s educated in that form of understanding to the needs of “why I was reaching out..” aside from needing a cocktail to help regulate my brain or stimulate my life again would have been more appropriate when assessing and then giving me a cocktail of medicine. I look forward to 8+ weeks from now seeing if what I was prescribed helps my situation, but again I thought initially the person I was speaking to was a therapist so I was imploding my situation and feelings onto somebody who I then realized, at the end was not a psychologist. I think that it helped her when choosing medications she was then going to prescribe me…. but I really was more-so looking for someone who was unbiased to help me with my situation/feelings as well. Sincerely, A.

Hi there—thanks for taking the time to leave a review and for trying our service. We apologize if there was any confusion about what exactly we provide. At Minded, we offer mental health medication treatment and psychiatric appointments. All of our providers are licensed psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners. As psychiatric professionals, they are trained to not only find the right personalized medication treatment plan for you, but also talk with you about how you are doing and what drove you to reach out to us. We are big supporters of therapy, but it is not a service we offer. Our expertise lies in mental health medication. If you are interested in trying therapy in addition to your medication plan, we encourage you to contact a therapist near you! In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your provider. :)
