Nothing but a gimmick. Complete waste of $500! Just to clarify, placement and intensity aren’t the issue. My doctor is the Chief of Neurogastroenterology, and I’ve been using the device at the recommended placement and maximum intensity. I purchased Truvaga specifically hoping it would help with my visceral hypersensitivity, but I’ve had no noticeable benefit after 6 months of daily use.

I purchased a Truvaga device marketed as FSA/HSA eligible through your qualification partner, TrueMed. The promise: save 30% using pre-tax FSA dollars on health products I already buy. - The trap! I used my FSA. It was denied — my administrator is requiring substantiation through a medical provider. But TrueMed's entire model is supposed to provide that substantiation. A licensed clinician is meant to review a health intake and issue a Letter of Medical Necessity at checkout — the document that qualifies the purchase in the first place. If that step never happened, then "qualified customer" was a claim you didn't stand behind. If it did happen and my FSA still denied the charge, then TrueMed's own written guarantee applies: full reimbursement of what I should have saved when a purchase covered by their LMN is rejected. A device meant to calm my nervous system is doing the opposite. I spent $550 of my FSA on the strength of your eligibility claim. I expect you to either honor the guarantee or explain why the qualification you advertised never materialized. To others: "FSA eligible" is not the same as "your FSA will approve it." Confirm you actually received a Letter of Medical Necessity before you spend the money. That's where the trap is set. I contact both TruVaga and TruMed and the response was pretty "buyers beware!" Hard to trust this company and I let everyone know about my issue.

I was sent an opened used Truvaga vagus nerve stimulator by Truvaga.com. I paid £300 and ordered in good faith. I was excited to receive it. Now I feel I have been scammed. The customer service team has not replied to my messages.

I haven't used it long enough to rate its effectiveness. I find the experience a bit unpleasant, but if it works, great. But I do want to warn you about the app which you need to drive it (basically to turn the intensity up and down - that's it). I tried it on 2 Pixel phones and 2 Samsung phones. None worked. The customer support are very responsive and helpful, but can't resolve the limitations of their software. I don't know about other Android devices, but I would be cautious. I had to buy a cheap iphone just to drive it. They say it needs iOS 16+. Mine had version 18, and didn't work. It was only when I upgraded to v26 that it worked. So if you have a newish ipad or iphone you should be fine. Otherwise you might end up like me having to buy a cheap phone just to use it. I can't tell you how much time I've spent trying to resolve this.

This is a “2” at best because the accompanying app is so weak. It regularly disconnects from the device doing sessions so that intensity cannot be increased. A message shows repeatedly saying I needed to restart/reconnect the device. I expect more from a device this pricey. Also, the utility of the history and analysis elements of the app are very superficial and are largely perfunctory at this point. Would recommend waiting to see if there will be upgrades.

Paying over $300 for a machine with a 4 minute per day and a 6 month automatic termination date was a terrible waste of time and effort, and stressful to get to the bottom of this. This was purchased to relieve stress but it actually amplified it. Trying to return it is a laborious process and expensive. Complete waste!
