Great school
Great school! As with many Soldiers, I spent time training and deployed. This school worked around my busy military schedule.

Rigorous coursework. Flexibility for working adults. (Highly rated by Forbes Magazine). Supportive faculty.
Bud James M.
My name is Bud and I am a current student at Trident University who is also in the military as an NCO. I am only 3 classes away from a Bachelor's in Project Management. The problems started from: (1) The many student advisors throughout the course of the education. during the last year alone, I have had about 3(!) different Student Success Advisors and counting. (2) Financial Aid not up to par and is poorly ran. Only Sergio is competent, the rest needs to be either replaced or trained better because Vanessa G did not inform my previously that my military tuition would cover my education fully. While filing out the FAFSA, individuals are not informed of a prorated rate in terms of loans vs grants. In other words: Loans cover more but the student would have to pay it back while grants cover less and the student might get an actual refund. But again, Financial Aid in Trident University does not want to discuss that. (3) The online library is a bit of a joke with several misspelled words, thus making it very difficult to look up materials...On one hand, the instructors are very good and very well trained ESPECIALLY Dr. Mark Butler and Dr. Karl Sagstetter and Dr. Corey Thomas. However, this is almost null and void compared to what the students go through in the other areas. To add insult to injury: the purchase of a degree is $150 for non military individuals. But there is a twist: Tuition Assistance is only good is it covers EVERYTHING but the moment that it doesn't, ANY individual will be forced to pay the $150 degree fee, even if that individual used Tuition Assistance and then had to use Financial Aid.

I graduated with my M.S. in Public Health from Touro University right before they switched over to Trident. They were very unhelpful in directing me where to obtain my diploma and transcripts. It took nearly 2 years to obtain these documents! The Financial Aid Dept. kept steering me into loans that ended up costing me thousands of dollars and I could not even get a job in this field after I graduated. I'm still paying on these loans. It has been an absolute nightmare. If you want an MPH or PhD in the public health field, don't take the easy way out. Enroll in a legitimate state college or university, not an online college because future employers will not hire you over someone who has graduated from a "bricks and mortar" school.

As Active Duty in the Military, giving your 101% in the performance of your job and at the same time going to school is a very difficult task. Trident Universtiy and its Faculty gave me the mentorship and assistance I needed to finish my degree. Thank you!

Marcus, thank you for taking the time to submit this review. What you have described is Trident's goal to maintain the highest level compassionate commitment without sacrificing academic excellence. This is culturally ingrained because of over 18 years of online higher education experience working with the dynamic military student.

As an NCO in the Army, our days are long and can be exhausting. We already juggle a bunch of things to do daily and education seemed out of the question. I must say Trident was truly a blessing. I wasn't familiar with taking online classes but I needed to get my education to get to the next level. The beauty of doing classes this way is that you pretty much became the student, teacher, researcher, and master of many techniques. The professors were there to help, but this type of classroom environment caused me to think outside of the box to get things accomplished. I earned my BSHS December 2008. Thanks to Trident I was able to apply for the Army Officer Candidate School and get accepted. After school I became a 2nd Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corp. I was also able to get my MSHS January 2015. I have now retired from the Army as of 30 November 2016. Thank you Trident for setting me up for success.

My hard earned PhD in Business Administration in 2006 zoomed my second career in academia. The rigorous program provided me with solid credentials and expertise that was need to be successful in my discipline. I enjoyed every second of my experience at Trident University International. Several years later 2011, I returned to Trident and earned a master degree in information technology management. I've progressed from new PhD graduate to Director of a business & technology graduate school in Texas. Trident University comes with my highest recommendations.
