Trident University International was the most educational online institution in 2011. Everything about the school worked for the military student. No books, but that doesn't make it easy. It meant you must obtain your own research materials. No tests, tests are replaced by 10 research papers and 5 online discussion threads which the student must participate in, per course. What can I say about Trident….Here is the downfall as a Veteran I have learned that in 2017 Trident University International had used misleading information to recruit “survivors” who have Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits. Survivors are the children of a father or mother who was killed while on active duty and their widows or husbands. Trident was sold and merged shortly after this became public and General Looney and Lieutenant General Metz along with fellow board member Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) William J. (“Joe”) Gainey were replaced with AIU Board members and Trident was merged into American Intercontinental University who the VA intends to suspend enrollment of new GI Bill students ASAP. (After careful review and consideration of findings provided by the Federal Trade Commission and State Attorneys General Offices, VA has concluded there is sufficient evidence to support a finding that these schools have utilized advertising, sales, or enrollment practices that are erroneous, deceptive, or misleading either by actual statement, omission, or intimation against GI Bill beneficiaries, in violation of the law.)

Why the 8 weeks. Tell me what one can learn in this short amount of time and what happen to the 12 week program?

Cost sucked, couldn't use local programs for financial scholarship. Self absorbed professors for the most part. And it took me 5 yrs to get a job. It was a waste of money and time... as I have a,low paying job that took me forever to get. 780$ folks. With a bachelors degree in business with a concentration in criminal justice.... pretty crappy..

My name is Bud and I am a current student at Trident University who is also in the military as an NCO. I am only 3 classes away from a Bachelor's in Project Management. The problems started from: (1) The many student advisors throughout the course of the education. during the last year alone, I have had about 3(!) different Student Success Advisors and counting. (2) Financial Aid not up to par and is poorly ran. Only Sergio is competent, the rest needs to be either replaced or trained better because Vanessa G did not inform my previously that my military tuition would cover my education fully. While filing out the FAFSA, individuals are not informed of a prorated rate in terms of loans vs grants. In other words: Loans cover more but the student would have to pay it back while grants cover less and the student might get an actual refund. But again, Financial Aid in Trident University does not want to discuss that. (3) The online library is a bit of a joke with several misspelled words, thus making it very difficult to look up materials...On one hand, the instructors are very good and very well trained ESPECIALLY Dr. Mark Butler and Dr. Karl Sagstetter and Dr. Corey Thomas. However, this is almost null and void compared to what the students go through in the other areas. To add insult to injury: the purchase of a degree is $150 for non military individuals. But there is a twist: Tuition Assistance is only good is it covers EVERYTHING but the moment that it doesn't, ANY individual will be forced to pay the $150 degree fee, even if that individual used Tuition Assistance and then had to use Financial Aid.

Overall I felt that the program was a complete and utter joke. For the most part I was 1of 2 if not the only student in my courses but was still responsible to participate in graded threaded discussions. Many of the instructors were slow to respond to questions and/or concerns, that is if they even responded at all. There was basically little to no communication. I felt the curriculum was too easy for a Masters level and when it came to writing papers I felt that you could pretty much write anything and receive a good grade. It's been a little over a year since I graduated and to be completely honest, I can't remember anything that I learned. This program and school is a true waste of time and money. I definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

The the tuition is too expensive we don't even buy books. Trident University don't help you with job placement.I have I finished the program and work at the Home Depot not what I was hoping for.

I started my PhD program when TU was Touro University International. I liked that I did not have to take a test to enter my PhD program or complete a practicum. I began to have mild concerns with the school breaking away from its New York sister school. To my warranted concern, the school began to undergo much transition in leadership that did not prove to benefit students. The Higher Educational Leadership PhD program left a lot to be desired. After graduating, there was nothing that I could apply in my field. I was/am basically left with a degree and debt with the lack of support from the school. There was nothing in place such as career services or help for graduates to find jobs. There were certain classes that were taken out the curriculum that I only could assume would have been useful. It would have been helpful to have a curriculum that focused more practical knowledge and application. Again, I ended up having to fall back on my prior knowledge (degrees) for employment. It would have been helpful to have had committee member choices upon setting up a dissertation committee. Most faculty could not commit because they had prior commitments. I had to switch committee members several times because they showed and lacked interest in my topic and/or tried unethical acts towards completing my dissertation that I could not allow. It would have also been helpful have someone or a class clearly outline the dissertation process as well as the role of a dissertation committee. I found out a lot on my own by learning from my classmate's experiences. I think it would be helpful to have a more diverse staff. I found it hard to work with certain staff due to cultural expectations on their part and not willing to understand mines. The cultural clash was overwhelming and very frustrating to where it became an arduous task and me just wanting to graduate and move on from the institution. I would not recommend the institution, especially the PhD program in Higher Educational Leadership.

I have written several emails to Trident and left messages to talk to someone about my situation and they will not respond.
