About Traveler's Joy

We're a small group of folks that started Traveler's Joy on a stoop in Brooklyn, NY in 2004. However, it all really started in 2003 with the serendipitous meeting of our founders at the first overnight hut of the Milford Track in New Zealand. Taking the company from a muddy hike on the South Island to the world's most popular honeymoon registry in a few short years required a lot of work. Luckily we have the best team in the world! Traveler's Joy continues to grow into a new decade and we're all very excited at what the future will bring. Use with caution

The website is very easy to use and has a lot of options for items to register for. They don’t make it very easy to get the money that people gift you and deduct a fee before sending it to you. It wasn’t clear that a fee would be deducted when I signed up for this and if I’d know I probably wouldn’t have used the service.

Dear Megan: Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you were not 100% satisfied with your Traveler's Joy honeymoon registry experience. We offer the option for wedding guests to give cash or a check at a later date and these gifts are 100% FREE. I'm sorry you were not aware of this gift option for your registry. As noted in our Common Questions, Terms of Use, and Frequently Asked Questions, for gifts given using a credit card, there is a fee. This fee covers processing the credit card (which can cost us up to 3%), hosting, features, and services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone. Finally, the fee also allows us to pay the people of Traveler's Joy a livable wage and keep the lights on and coffee flowing. Our gift transfer options are the best in the registry industry. Some registries take up to 21 days to send a payment to the couple! Our fastest redemption option for U.S. residents is the ACH Bank Transfer which is processed within (1) business day and can take up to (3) business days to appear in the couple's bank account. Depending on the couple's bank, some receive their funds within (1) day! Once again, I apologize that your experience did not work out the way you had hoped.
