Short Version: Like many things about towing in the US, don't trust the maximum specification: the 5X is said to be good to #500 tongue weight, but it's not. The side-mount bracket is not strong enough for the torque, the back brackets that saddle the tongue bend, the lift tube flexes, the screw jack has too much friction, the tires are squashed. It's just not up to it, especially after a couple years of occasional use.

I have a lot of problems with the Valet. I sets the brake frequently when I am using a drill. I have had the drill fly off of the Valet a few times, and my wrist bent every time the brake engages.

I really like the Deluxe Trailer Valet. However, I was not happy that my order was shipped two or three days after I was told it was shipped. I needed it a day earlier than I received it and had to jimmy rig something to the job that I ordered the Deluxe Trailer Valet for. Now it will sit until next spring when I move the trailer again.

The employees are awesome the shipping and getting my product pushed back is garbage. Replying: They were marked for december 14th then it got pushed yet again to the 21st. That is why im upset.

Great concept but not-so-great execution. There are several design flaws: 1. TIre inflator port is too long and is cathing the frame. Had to replace the tube once already. 2. Brakes engage prematurely after the slightest release of the handle. 3. Plastic ring from beneath the post got chewed up after 3 weeks of using. 4. No place to secure the handle when not in use.

Hi there, It would be helpful to know which unit you are referring to. Is it the 5X or XL? Unless you have an older unit, all of our XL units have solid tires. 1. If the valve stem is catching on the frame, it usually means the inner tube is deflated and not at its recommended psi. Please check out our video regarding inner tubes- https://youtu.be/R1loct8hEIY it is a very thorough video that goes into installation, proper usage, etc. 2. If the brakes engage at the slightest release, that means the brake is doing its job from letting the unit or your trailer get away from you. 3. Which unit do you have? It has to fit just right to work and sometimes that is hard to do.
