Too slow
I've registered the 500GB lifetime, and it is absolutely slow,
While it takes me about 15minutes to upload 4.5GB to my free google driver account, but thunderdriver.io show that 9hrs.
Can't believe that is a paid storage service.

Promising but difficult to trust
UX seems fine, but the trust issue is something that doesnt convince me to handover all my data to this company even though I have paid for their 2TB subscription.
Their website does not have any info about the company, no phone number. When I asked this on chat, I was given a vague reply and that they are not putting up any history or any info about their company in public domain.
Seems strange, though I would like to believe this.
When I asked for their office address, they said they cannot reveal their address as their servers are hosted at that address and it would be a security issue.
Even no phone number? Why?
Tomorrow, if something happens to my data (hacked/stolen), who is responsible? Simply a website with no seeming authenticity?
That's the reason why I canceled my upload and deleted my files from their servers until they win my (and everybody's) trust.
EDIT:
The address that I have been asked to look at in the "Privacy Policy" (strange place to find the only address on the website) supposedly belongs to a house address. A simple zillow search can give this information. The phone number seems to be a home phone number according to the internet. Is this true? Like I said above, I was told by their rep that they cannot give their address because their servers are located at that address. So does this mean their servers are located in a residential building?
??? Doesn't seem to connect the dots well ???

Too many bad reviews. My experience is much better.
I find it odd that people are posting reviews 5 minutes after they purchase the service. As with any website, there are bugs and server updates. If something doesn't work correctly, at least give the company a couple of days to sort it out (even though it usually takes a few minutes). People who are posting these bad reviews calling the site a scam have no clue what they are talking about. I purchased six accounts to stack, and I have 12tb of lifetime storage (hopefully the company sticks around to get my monies worth). When I chatted with support, they answered back within 90 seconds and fixed my issues within just a few seconds.
I rated it 4 stars because of all the bugs. For me, the fact that one failed upload halts the whole process is a critical bug. It makes it very difficult to upload a lot of files at one time, which I am doing as we speak. When a file fails, there is no way to cancel it or remove the file; there is just a red X, then the page must be refreshed and the files which did not upload need to be added, which means I must sort through and find the files which are already uploaded.
I get about 1.5mbps upload speed, but I'm also using a VPN (my ISP clocks about 5mbps upload according to SpeedTest). To me, the upload rate is acceptable. Being able to upload large files isn't a big deal to me, and I understand the browser limitations, so there are no complaints there. When they finish their desktop app, this will not be an issue. Their mobile apps serve little interest to me, as I would rather see a desktop app. However, I can see how a mobile app would drive more customers as it's available in the app stores, which is advertising in itself. I want the company to create a sustainable business model, so I cannot complain about their plan.
To recap; the good: upload speed is about 1.5mbps (with a VPN), service has been stable for the last few days with just a little bit of downtime for maintenance (which is good; if the site never had maintenance, it would be a bad sign), and support was quick to respond and solve all issues. The bad: cannot upload more than a 5gb file, when an upload fails, it halts the whole upload process, then the page must be refreshed, and the files which did not upload must be re-added.
Overall, it is a good deal if they stick around for years. I hope the upload bug is a priority.

Thanks for the review Casey!
We hear you and the functionality you've mentioned is one of our top priorities right now!
Be on the lookout for a resolution to this soon, we know you'll want to update this to 5 Stars later! :)

DON'T DO IT
Completely broken at the moment. Zero customer service response now. It looks they oversold and can't handle the load. Take a pass until they sort their stuff out.
Update: Thunder Drive has falsely reported my review.
"ThunderDrive.io's reason for reporting
This review is not from a buyer and is not about the product
I am absolutely a buyer and they are STILL broken.
UPDATE 2: They started working again for a few hours but have been down again for the last 10 or so. can't get my money back because it was purchased through a 3rd party. Upload speeds (when working) seem to be no better than 2Mbs (about 5x slower than I test).
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT, don't be a sucker like me.
UPDATE 3: Still only able to upload about 50% of the time, and at criminally slow speeds. There's no way this "lifetime" purchase lasts longer than a year or two, and even then it isn't worth having to upload a file or two at a time.

Cheap but extremely slow. Lost money
The loading of files on European servers is extremely slow... In my case, under the same conditions it takes 8 times slower compared to dropbox or drive.
For this reason, I score 3 stars in an act of faith. I want to trust that the service will improve and that they are now overwhelmed to be a new service and the launch of the LTD offer.
The web platform in my case works very well, is friendly and easy to use.
In the roadmap there is a desktop application for Q4. I think it is an urgent and necessary functionality. More than the mobile app
I will let pass a short time, to see if they correct the problem of speed . If this changes I will modify my score by 5 stars, if not I will score with 1 star
Update:
I'm sorry. I've allowed enough time to correct your speed deficiencies and it hasn't been corrected. It's still slow. Also, you haven't implemented a single feature programmed into your roadmap. I've already given up my money

Thunderdrive.io is working great so…
Thunderdrive.io is working great so far. Super skeptical because there are literally not a lot of reviews on it. Overall, there are 2 concerns that I have with it:
1. No 2 step authentication when you log in. People can easily hack into your thunderdrive account. Without 2 step authentication, I am feeling *very* unsafe with using thunderdrive. I had a PayPal before and I wasn't using 2 step authentication, someone hacked into my PayPal and ever since that, I have been using 2 step authentication for literally everything. It is so easy for people to hack your account if you don't have 2 step authentication.
2. Thunderdrive feels like a gamble because it is so new and that it could at the end of the day be a scam or they could permanently shutdown their services at any time. Only time will tell if thunderdrive plans to be a legit cloud storage or if they will run off with all our money.
I hope thunderdrive adds in 2 step authentication and proves itself to be a safe reliable cloud storage. I read a comment on YouTube that the thunderdrive.io website is on sale (I am not sure if this is true), and also note, they only bought about a year's worth of website domain time which makes me feel skeptical that they won't renew when the time comes. I am not sure about thunderdrive but we will see what happens with it in the future. I will be super happy if I do end up getting 2 TB of lifetime storage.

complete upload impossible and too slow
It seems impossible to load data into the cloud. The upload time is much too slow and the change between .io to .eu does not always work.
Those were your words:
Use a storage service 6x faster than Amazon storage
Easily set up Thunder Drive & use it w / any web or mobile browser
I wrote three e-mails to the support not one was answered until today!
Conclusion:
Is not faster than Amazon
miserable bandwidth and terrible support and an upload from the beginning to the end is not possible
zero points

The setup experience went fantastic
The setup experience went fantastic! Ended up needing customer service assistance and they were very helpful and quick. Still a new customer, but if the product is as good as the customer service, I'm going to have to strongly recommend them.
