ThunderDrive.ioReviews of thunderdrive.io

I bought the 2 TB life time deal for $60 hoping it would be worth it, but unfortunately it is too good to be true. For some reason every time I try to upload a file greater than 2 GB it would say it succeeded but the file wouldn't appear. Also the upload speed is terribly slow and takes about 30 minutes for a 1 GB file and the max size to upload a single file is only 5 GB which is definitely not enough if you decide to upload videos. For basic picture, music, and documents it should be fine, but other than that I would not recommend this product.

Technically every times it failed to upload large files above 400 MB. Also the speed of upload is very very slow. its useless if you have to wait 3 hrs for a 2.0 GB file and eventually it will fail after 4/5 hrs of long waiting. Multiple files also failed to upload if the size is big. I paid for 2 TB lifetime and i am not satisfy with these poor services.

As many of th reviews below, i am on a lifetime 2Gb sub. I hope enough money comes in to add some features badly missing at the moment. Sorting is working, kinda. But it always keep showing 'last modified' at the 'sort by', even though it isn't. I really miss 2 things at the moment: - selecting several files at once with 'shift'. - Detecting duplicate filenames in 1 folder and then not adding the duplicates. speed can always be better, i wan't to back up all my data, and doing 500-600 gB will take weeks, and then the upload freeze shouldn't happen to often. (why can't it continue with the next one?) Keep working thunderdrive, maybe we have something good in the could soon.

I bought lifetime storage through MacWorld and have been trying to be positive about the experience so far. As others have noted, it is often frustrating when the upload stops at a particular file. It is not clear why this happens as I can always upload that file individually. It is usually the folder that it is in has the problem for some reason. I am hoping that the Roadmap is accurate and that an App that is available by the end of 2019. It would be great if it worked as flawlessly as DropBox, especially if it could keep track of changes and automatically update files and folders. I like the idea of requiring 2-step authorization - hope that will come to pass. Also, for me, if I have it listed alphabetically, it list folders as a group before individual files as a group. Why is that? P.S. Definitely not fast at this point.

The service is fantastic at its price point, but I'm concerned about scalability and bug fixing when it appears to be a basic BeDrive setup, complete with the same bugs. It's difficult to really ascertain the competency of the site administrators and their ability to provide the things set out in the roadmap. It seems to work fine for the time being, but if you do end up considering a lifetime subscription, be prepared for the service to stay as it is (assuming it stays live for any considerable length of time).

I love it! It's fast and the interface is very clean. Got a lifetime subscription so will be cancelling my google drive soon. One thing that I have an issue is that it sometimes stops upload with an error - quite annoying when you want to do an overnight upload. Also lack of an app/desktop app is a problem (but they're implementing it soon according to their roadmap). Upd; Feb 2020. Seems like it's on its way out. Keep getting "Whoops, looks like something went wrong." when I try to download files.

Using more than 3 months and giving 4 stars now. Speed has improved and stable,no login issues anymore, customer service replied fast and were helpful. Still need more work.

Great value and a very user friendly interface. as a user I would like to suggest a few issues you can work on: -upon uploading a bunch of documents and refreshing the page the upload window disappeared and had to upload everything from start (very upsetting) -also would like to see if folder size could be made available. -when uploading an estimate time of when the upload will be completed would be good to see and also the total progress. hope you take these feedbacks positively and make one awesome storage. cannot wait for the fone and the desktop app and also to have live sync options. thanks
