ThunderDrive.ioReviews of thunderdrive.io

Purchased Thunderdrive for the lifetime 2TB storage. It just might possibly take me the rest of my life to upload my data. Heck of a price for a lifetime of storage however now I know why they have to give it away so cheap. Upload times are atrocious! 30 mins to upload a 100MB video over a 100Mbps Fiber connection? Come on. I have yet to be able to successfully upload a batch of files without it failing. I have been trying for two days to upload my collection of photos from my external HD. I'm going to give it a couple more days but I see myself getting a refund and cancelling the service.

For the given price, this is really worth it. I found it promising. What I like : - Cheap price - Security - UI looks good - It's easy as drag and drops - I think the upload time is fast enough Although it has a lot of malfunctions with the features: - The preview slideshow image doesn't work properly. - Sort-by-name feature doesn't work properly - Uploading bulk of files could fail - A little bit glitchy when uploading via chrome I really hope the team is ambitious enough to make it better. I have read your roadmap. Q3 you guys planning to have mobile apps. My suggestion is to fix the web app first to become flawlessly functioning. I also hope you guys have a server in Asia (I live in SEA region, Singapore server would be a good one).

I can see why ThunderDrive has so many deals. Uploads repeatedly fail.

Absolutely horrible! If it seems to good to be true, it is. Slow as molasses! I tried coping over my entire photo collection (66,000 photos) and it kept failing after a few hundred slow uploads. I have no issues with AWS and am sticking with it. I hope this helps.

The only positive thing I can say about ThunderDrive is their very cheap pricing. However, negatives include a very slow upload speed; disconnects during the upload process, and as I try re-upping the folder, I am still uncertain whether their system recognizes files already in there, or creates duplicates; and the inability to browse my drive whilst the upload process is going on.

My purchase: 2TB with double storage lifetime plan Country: Singapore Please check my reviews: 06/08/2019 1. Multi-thread to handle multiple tasks - to speed up most of the tasks like uploading multiple files at the same time instead of upload one by one. 2. User Interface Change Request#: i) Task Management Page - Easy to view and modify all the existing tasks instead of small windows task manager. ii) Dashboard Page - Data usage (files and folders size), overall usage, profile status blah blah blah 3. Larger file took longer time to view/stream or download. (Around few minutes to load 1GB+ video) P.S. GDrive or any other cloud services are working fine with my network speed. 7/8/2019 Thunder Drive Bugs# 1. Upload folder is not allow folder title include "." and this will break the folder structure 2. Unable to select multiple files by holding down the "Shift" key or mouse drag selection 3. The display of file upload duration is not precise with the task 4. Unable to save the user preference setting like UI layout

if the upload of big folders gets interrupted by network failures, do i really have to re-upload the whole again from the beginning? would make sense if the upload would continue automatically.

The only reason why i'm still willing to give this drive a shot is its potential. My region is South east Asia. and here the internet connectivity is very good, yet the speeds of viewing my uploaded files is slow. i tried to watch a movie which i uploaded but the stream was so slow that after 1 min the movie didn't even start . Also, i thought it was a joke that there were only 3 levels of folders. but to my horror, when i tried uploading my existing files from drop box, all my folder structures were gone and were reduced to just 3 levels. this makes this product inferior to drop box because the basics aren't even there. so for now i'm keeping my drop box account and waiting for Thunderdrive's phone app and desktop app. then again, i'm not complaining because for 59 dollars and 2TB worth of storage is still a deal. the problem is that right now, it is a far cry from what it promises to deliver. then again, i tried this drive in hopes that this platform will become far beyond what it is today. and for what its worth, there are still uses for a storage drive with 3 levels of folder structure. just that it won't be for important data.
