Thrifty Car RentalReviews of thriftyuae.com

Pay attention At Orlando Airport. They tell you that there's no more kind of car that you reserved and they make a no requested upgrade with additional costs. Read the paper before signing up!! they don't tell you that it costs more!

Don’t go for it, look at reviews first. I rented a car at Orlando Airport and they tried to charged me extra for insurance, tolls cards, and so on. I needed to insist to get a compact car as hired as they only had economy available. After a week the car has broken down due to a battery fault and I awaited more than 3 hours to get a road assistance. They jump started the car and asked me to come back to airport and replace it. Very disappointing, terrible service. Don’t waste your time and money.

Would have been a 5-star review if Thrifty didn’t overcharge me $300 for insurance coverage I declined to accept. Car worked great, pickup was only slightly delayed, and drop off was easy. But customer service refuses to refund the overcharge and sent me an inaccurate copy of my 7-page contract. I never saw that contract — the only form I signed was the 1- or 2-page form with my initials indicating I declined the insurance. I was not given a copy of that form and haven’t been able to get one. Wise cat gave me a great rate, but Thrifty jacked it up 50% for insurance I declined. Renter beware!!!

Rented a car from Calgary to Vancouver. The brakes were bad and we really found this out going down massive hills. The brakes were rubbing on the rotors and heating. We were re-routed off the Trans Canada to Hwy 5A (i think it was....) No Thrifty Rental places anywhere to be found. We arrived in Vancouver safely but the car was parked till it was returned at the airport. I complained to the attendants who said this car was WAY overdue for service and we shouldnt of gotten this car. Thrifty's offered less than 5% rebate of $50. This was a $1300+ rental

Never use Expedia NOR Thrifty. NEVER. we booked a rental car through Expedia -- and when we called Expedia to change the pick up time of the car rental, the folks at Expedia told us they couldnt change anything to our rez, we HAD to call thrifty. We called thrifty, they said they can do nothing, we HAD to call Expedia. We called Expedia- they called Thrifty, and Thrifty told Expedia that they would not change our reservation because the agent of Expedia was unauthorized to initiate a change and WE the customer had to call Thrifty directly. So we did. Thrifty told us to call Expedia. Done. NEVER AGAIN.

It seems like only customers with bad experiences leave a review so here goes a different one. We made and paid for a reservation in advance through Wisecars. Our paperwork told us of additional fees up to a certain amount would be collected at pick up time. The shuttle at Boston Logan was efficient. Thrifty had as many agents working the counter as any other rental except Hertz which had a much longer line. They copied my license and collected the fee by credit card which was less than expected. The car was the size expected and it was clean and ready on time. When we returned the car to the same location a week later, we just parked it and left the key on the dash. We returned it full as per the agreement and there were no additional charges.

Rented a car at Miami Airport. Worst Car Rental Ever!!! Kicked everyone out and said come back tomorrow at 5am. There were like 20 families that ended up with NO CAR!!! We got there at 11:30pm and went to 2nd floor as signs says. Waited in line for 25 minutes with 1 customer in front of us. That guy so busy chatting and gossiping. 25 minutes later he told us to go to the 4th floor. Went back up waited 10 minutes and there was still a huge line. They literally shut the light and told everyone to come back at 5am tomorrow. We ended up spending another $100 on car service going and coming back from the hotel. I’m not sure what the other families ended up doing.
