Thrifty Car RentalReviews of thriftyuae.com

They don't give deposit back Also when you return your car they will say there's no extra charges or speeding tickets then will send it in email after 1 week and take the money out of you bank with out permission

Rented a Thrifty car out of Chicago O'Hare. We didn't purchase the add-on electronic pass for tolls, based on our previous rental care experiences in Chicago where we were mailed bills from the Illinois Tollway at a later date. Just got our bill from Thrifty with $9 charge for the tolls, plus $90 in "admin" fees (which I was not told about at the time of the rental). Complete scam, and I now see where Thrifty makes their money, by cheating their customers with hidden fees and small print. Will never rent from Thrifty again. And I only hope this helps to warn others before they're scammed, too.

Dont ever use this company. They will newer return your calls, mails or even on-line formular if you have issues with your car

FORGET THS COMPANY. last week we rented and waited 45 minutes for a vehicle. then declining the 12.00 per day toll prepayment, we paid cash through about 4 tolls., never thinking I needed to get receipts for a dollar or 2 toll. but lo and behold, Thrifty sent me a toll violation with an enormous processing fee.Thrifty just lost me and hopefully you too,

Had a prepaid rental in Seattle which I had rented a car 2 years ago without any trouble. This time they did a credit check on my debit card and refused the rental, leaving us stranded. The fact I had the same debit card 2 years ago meant nothing to the manager. I called my credit union to see if they're is something wrong with my card and they were shocked and upset a rental company would do a credit check. I'm stunned by all the negative reviews for this company and wonder if the $500 hold they want to put on debit cards is to add bogus charges. It wasn't easy, but thanks to Orbitz, they got us a refund. For certain I will never use Thrifty again.

I rent a car from Wisecars and paid $695. Somehow, they sent me to pick up the car from Thrifty. Beside the inconvenient of waiting on the line (IAH) for 2 hours, they overcharged me! I end up paid $520 extra for NOTHING, since I told them I would use my private car insurance. Below are the charges: DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW/LDW) $239.94 CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY $57.69 PREMIUM EMERGENCE ROADSIDE SERVICE $53.94 VEHICLE LICENSE FEE: $11.94 CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE $24.00 ACCESS PASS THRU FEES $4.99 TAX 15.00% $128.62 AMOUNT DUE: $520.82 What is CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY??? Why the ROADSIDE NOT INCLUDED INTO DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW/LDW); what is VEHICLE LICENSE FEE? (thought it was included in Wisecars when I rent), why tax was 15%, though it was 8.25% I paid a total of $1215 for my 6 days of CAR rental, end up more than 200$ per day!!! instead of what I expected of 695 bucks!!!

What a rip off they are still trying to take money out of our card each day. We rented a jeep for three days the car was fine but when we returned they said the tyres looked worn and they would be charging us $2,500 to cover it. This was a total fabrication we only drove around the city and didn't do any thing to damage any thing on the car let a lone the tyres. We have tried to call them with no luck seems like all of the employees are in on the scam. I have had to cancel the car as they continue to try and take funds out of it. Not sure what more to do about it any suggestions? giving them one star is to much!!

I booked a Ford Mustang sports car through this company which uses Carrentals.com. On collection we were given a 4 cylinder Jeep and told no other cars were available. It turns out they still charged me the same premium rate. On return we filled the car full but we were still invoiced for filling. I tried many times contacting Carrentals and Thrifty but never had a response other than that would look into it. In short, they effectively defrauded me of my money. Avoid them at all costs!
