Don't touch them. I hired a car on line as u get an online discount... However what they don't tell you is if you do, u can't change your booking in anyway... U have lost the full amount. If u book on line u can also only communicate via e mail so any quiries u have to wait one day for response. Book minimum days, extend later if u really want to use them... Absolutely appalled... I hired the car, then needed it for extra days so was told had to be done on line, which I did. I then found I did not need the car, but because I did it online I was told I had to e mail, which took a day to respond, then I was told because it was an extension I would get no refund what's so ever... So now I have a car, which I don't need for 4 days......

1) Car delivered late to hotel. Only delivered after I followed up with them. 2) car collected many hours late from hotel. Only collected after I followed up with them. 3) a day after returning car, they called me to arrange to collect the car! Idiotic. 4) 30 days after returning car, they have still not released hold on my credit card despite me following up after 21 days. Did this in a previous hire with them.

Caution ! Booked a rental via Thrifty website Spain on July 20, 2023. Needed a car in Charleroi Airport - Belgium. Got by return a booking number and a booking confirmation reference from Herz/Thrifty Las Rozas Madrid. Was charged Eur 242.94 on my Visa Credit Card on July 20. Had to change my travel plans and cancelled the booking on the same website a few days later and confirmed the cancelation also by phone with their office in Charleroi airport ! Since then (after 8 weeks) no reimbursement received on my Visa Credit Card so far.... Herz Las Rozas cannot be joined by any means ! This is too much and I have to warn other users of the dubious methods of Herz/Thrifty !

Rented a vehicle online and when I went to the agent for pick up the next day, they told me that it was a 3rd party booking and I had to pay extras. Once there I was also informed I'd have to pay for an extra driver(not mentioned previously) and leave a huge deposit. Car Rental $300, suggested deposit $820. They then said if I double my insurance cover the deposit would be $410. I took the higher cover which was an extra $100. The car was not what I had booked but was nice all the same. Return process was very good and efficient. They said my deposit would be released "after a few weeks". A week after, I began getting emails of fine after fine with the line for "reason for fine" left blank? Over the next 3 weeks I received a notification of 4 fines, each $140 taken directly from my credit card. I called them a number of times for the reason, each time they said they would send an email with all details and they failed to do so each time. It is now 4 months since I returned the vehicle and they have still not returned my deposit even after numerous calls again. My bank confirmed that they had not released the funds and I have been advised to initiate a dispute process for my refund. A very bad experience and nothing short of actual theft. Total charges as of today, 3 months after vehicle return: Car Rental - $300 Un-refunded deposit - $410 Unverified fines - $560 charged to card after return Definitely not recommended.

Do not ever use American Express Travel to rent a car. It is an absolute scam. They will not only charge you to rent the car, but then Thrifty car rental agency will charge you for the same rental AGAIN PLUS MORE, so you will end up paying 2.5x what you were expecting to pay. Then when you dispute the charge, it will take approximately a month for them to tell you 'too bad so sad.' I will NEVER rent with Thrifty ever again so long as I live.

Poor service my car battery issues i inform the costumer service at5:45 pm they told they wil come at 8pm Now around 11pm the driver called then asking the battery photos how they're service until 6 hour im waiting for the service So bad experience thrifty costumer service

Made a prepaid reservation via GotRental Cars and landed at MCO after a 17 hour trek obviously very tired and wanting to get to our destination. At desk we were not asked for any additions except whether we wanted to return full or empty being advised to return empty as Thrifty were cheaper than local gas stations.I signed for the vehicle and was directed to pick up point thinking it was very efficient being a new desk at Terminal C. Unfortunately after such a long travel I didn't check the paperwork as previously mentioned and reiterating to the agent that all was prepaid. On my return I was charged an additional $265:36 charges including $56:69 for fuel which I expected but certainly not the other premium charge. I find this totally immoral and fraudulent not being asked for additions then finding the extra charges, after informing that it was all prepaid and after contacting Thrifty being told we had signed for the additions. I travel 2-3 time a year to visit family and will never use them again and advise anyone else not to use if you do however tired please check all paperwork because this seem to be the way Thrifty make excess monies about for travelling passengers after viewing other reviews.

I prepaid for my rental online. Once I got to the counter to pick up my rental I confirmed with the clerk that it was prepaid and I told her twice that I did not want the additional insurance. I was tired after a long flight and signed the contract. After returning the car I received the final receipt via email and there was a $175 charge for the insurance that I verbally declined twice with the clerk. I was foolish in trusting that what I was signing didn't include it, but I was tired and didn't read the contract line by line. I called Thrifty once I caught it, but of course it was too late because they already had my signature. I told them I felt it was underhanded and sneaky how that was done. Basically seemed like taking advantage of a tired traveler who just wanted to get to their location, who was trusting that verbally stating their denial of coverage was enough. I recommend using any of the other rental agencies. This was my first and last time I will use Thrifty.
