Two stars are for the design...
...and the third one is for handling my complaint promptly and courteously. The designs are fantastic, which is what attracted me to the shirts to being with. I ordered large to allow for some shrinkage, and--although over $20 per tee seemed a bit high--assuming that such a great design would come on a quality T-shirt, I ordered three. When they arrived, the designs were everything I had hoped, but I was disappointed with the shirts themselves: They seemed thin and flimsy, and the minimal cuffs on the long-sleeved shirt seemed cheaply made. I just don't understand the mentality of business people who opt to save a few dollars per shirt in production, and then go on to lose many dollars in future sales as disappointed customers decide never to return. They would have had me for life had they chosen to couple the great designs with with a high-quality shirt... Update: Well, a few weeks have passed, and I have been in touch with the company. When I let them know I was unhappy with the tee quality, they responded quickly and gave me the choice of either taking a refund or getting the designs I had chosen on a triblend tee (different material). When I learned that the triblend was no heavier than the cotton I already had, I opted for a refund on the long sleeve shirt, which was promptly creditied to my PayPal account. So the support team was terrific. I just wish the shirts were that good! Ultimately, I decided to keep the other two short-sleeve shirts just because the designs are SO nice. People I meet comment on them, on how cool and original they are. I really wish I could recommend the shirts wholeheartedly, but I usually wind up sharing both sides of the coin with people and then let them make their own decision. Personally, I'm still afraid to put my two remaining shirts in the dryer; I take them out, stretch them, and hang them up to dry. We'll see how long they last. If I ever do find out that Threadless has gone to better quality shirts, I'd be willing to give them another try.
