While my wife and I were contemplating redoing our kitchen, one of our biggest concerns was price. I was expecting to pay what I hear most do with putting out 10's of thousand of dollars just for the cabinets alone not including installation. I was VERY pleasantly surprised to come to TheRTAStore.com where they had not only amazing prices, but all their product was solid wood! When comparing them to local big box stores or even locally owned stores they were significantly less with a high quality! I thought something was wrong, but after getting them installed they are everything and more the I expected! I highly recommend TheRTAStore. I also would suggest using their design team, I would have been lost without the expertise they provided! Thank you to TheRTAStore!

We're glad you were able to compare us to your local stores and found that we could save you money AND get you a great quality cabinet! We really appreciate your recommendation, it's the best compliment!

They have a horrible return policy
They have a horrible return policy. Make sure if you buy anything you plan on keeping it. I bought some cabinets to redo my kitchen and once the kitchen was finished tried to return the items I did not use that were still new in the box and they rejected the return. I had another items that got damaged in shipping and luckily I met all the criteria to get that replaced But with so much criteria to meet it seemed as if they did not want to do that as well. I really felt like through each separate interaction with them that they were just trying to find reasons not to make it right. I would say buyer beware. The other cabinets stores online have much better customer service and I understands what it means to treat your customers right

Hi Mr. Pettus,
Thank you for reaching out, we certainly want to make sure that any issues have been taken care of! For items being returned, as long it's within 30 days, we don't normally have any issues with getting returns approved, if it's past that time though or an item that isn't returnable (certain moldings/accessories, etc...), it can get a little tricky due to manufacturer policies. It sounds as if the replacement item has been taken care of, it appears that it was a back panel to the sink base and it was shipped out 2 days after you reported it but if you're still missing anything, please let us know!

The office staff is at least helpful
The staff was very helpful with my issues and the cabinets are nice and real wood. My issue was their policies and how many times it took them to get my order correct. Over half of my cabinets had issues on the first shipment. The first replacement shipment had a few issues. Then it took them 2 more times to finally get my order right. I was ready to return them right off the bat with all the issues from the beginning, but their policy was to open all the boxes and see if there are any issues. The problem with that is once the boxes are open the warehouse won't take them back and if you want to return them there's a large restocking fee and you have to pay for the shipping back, even though the order had issues. Next time I'll spend the extra money and go with a local store for my cabinets. By ordering from The RTA Store it put me over 2 months behind on getting this kitchen done. Also, they have testimonials on their site, but I have no place to leave mine... Very poor policies on their part. I also was supposed to get a phone call from the shipper before they delivered and each time no call, they just arrived...
Response from The RTA StoreApr 4, 2019
We're very sorry to hear that your order needed to be corrected and that there were any issues with your shipment. We strive for all deliveries to be completed without any problems, when there are, we work as quickly as possible to correct them. For returns, sometimes it can be tricky if the boxes has been open due to manufacturer policies but whenever possible, we try and get around those if we can. We also apologize for the lack of a phone call prior to your order arriving, freight companies are supposed to schedule with the customer to make sure someone is home, they risk having to re-deliver by just showing up because they always need a signature and if no one is there, they will have to come back at a later time/date so they're usually good about calling ahead. If that didn't happen, again, we really apologize about that!

I ordered my cabinets on 4-20-18
I ordered my cabinets on 4-20-18. They shipped them via freight. The freight company was to contact me for delivery. The cabinets arrived on May 1st unannounced. No one was home to accept the shipment except our baby sitter who had no idea of anything. The cabinets were damaged, one cabinet was the wrong item and none of the shipping protocol had been followed. I called the company on May 2nd complaining of these issues. I was 1200 miles away on vacation!.
I had left info with my foreman about accepting the shipment and taking care of issues but with no call from the shipping company he had no idea that the cabinets had been received.
The office staff was a bit helpful and told me that they would extend the period I had to review the shipment. I had to leave the first vacation that I had experienced in 4 years, three days early to deal with this issue that was fast turning into a HUGE MESS!
I was told that the replacement items would be reordered immediately and shipped out. One very small piece came but there was no replacement cabinet. All this time the deadline for my contract was looming ever closer and penalties were going to have to be paid plus I needed time to template and order the counter top after installation.
On May 13th I called the company again to see where my replacement cabinet was. I found out at that point that the cabinet HAD'NT EVEN SHIPPED YET!!!! I was very upset as were my clients. It took this company an additional 3 days to get my cabinet shipped. It will not arrive until 4 days before my deadline!!! Over a FULL MONTH after I ordered them! So here I am with 3 days left to install the cabinets, get a template made and have a granite counter top installed. The counter top company has a minimum 10 day lead time. So what happens to me , the CUSTOMER OF THE RTA STORE BECAUSE THEY SENT ME THE WRONG CABINET AND TOOK OVER TWO WEEKS TO CORRECT THEIR ERROR? I pay a total of $634.00 in penalties, i pay $485.00 for a temporary formica counter top because the clients have this oceanside cottage rented out already for that week. Then I pay to remove the Formica counter top, buy a new $478.00 sink and get the granite counter top installed with a new under mount sink.
So doing business with THE RTA STORE will cost me $1600.00 out of my pocket for their inability to fulfill their commitment. Emails were hard to get answers to as i got more frustrated , they became less responsive to the point of me having to call and attempt to speak to a manager! This company will turn a blind eye to the additional cost that I have incurred and will forget that their actions caused this unfortunate series of events. There has been no offer to help me with this mess. NONE!! They will hold themselves completely free of blame and I will pay! I am a small company and this hurts SEVERLY!!
This all could have been avoided by a simple phone call from the shipping company or corrective action taken immediately by the company to correct THEIR MISTAKE!!
I will never do business with this company again! It was the worst experience that I have ever had in my over 20 years in business and I have bought many many RTA cabinets online. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! They will leave you hanging, blame freight companies AND allow you to lose meager profit by not offering to help in any way!

WARNING!!! thertastore.com - keep looking
Listen, I know you want to save money. We all do but you will regret buying from thertastore.com.
First off, 90% of the reviews you see here are not real customers. They are hired people; hired to write reviews. So don't believe a word of it.
Thertastore.com is simply a middleman between your wallet and Chinese manufacturers. I ordered $2000 worth of cabinets and these are the problems I had:
The cabinets smell really bad - like formaldehyde. I was told by a chemist it is off-gassing from the chemicals they use in China. That's right, chemicals evaporating in my house.
The other thing is, these cabinets are very poorly made. The door panels rattle around inside the door frames and the paint they use does not match or adhere properly. In addition, my pieces had a lot of scratches and blemishes.
Do yourself a favor and read lots of reviews before purchasing ready-to-assemble cabinets (RTA).

2017 Cabinet Purchase
I completed a layout on 10/20/2017 with a design specialist named Jason Stock at thertastore.com. He was amazing, patient and skilled in what he did. I was very pleased with him, so I decided to place my order with his company on 11/02/2016 due to their sale schedule. I was told that it would ship in 3 to 7 days.
On 11/10/2017 I contacted RTA after not hearing from them. I was told that the line that I picked was not available and that they were having problems not only with that line, but also that manufacturer. They recommended that I pick a new cabinet. After complaining about the lack of communication and explaining that I would have to go through a total redesign, I contacted my design guy, Jason Stock. He said that something must be wrong, and he would look into it. I was contacted that day and told that my order was amazingly going to ship the next day. Over the next 10 days my order arrived in two orders via truck without any warning. No calls, no emails, it just showed up to a new construction jobsite without anyone there to unload. I was called by workers saying a truck just arrived and the cabinets were unloaded into the street.
Upon receipt, I was told to check for damage or defects. I checked my base cabinets 1st only to find the corner base cabinet, which is the 1st cabinet to be install, was defective, due to poor finishing, and needed a replacement part before it could be installed. I had to wait almost a week for that part to come in before I could start my kitchen installation. In the meantime, I started my inspection of the rest of the cabinets. I started finding that my White Lakewood cabinets had paint overspray in the seams of the raised panels. I called RTA and told them, and they said to send a picture of each problem and document the problems in detail in an email. It took almost 6 hours with help to inspect, photo and log in each piece of the defective cabinets, and in the end I had 48 damaged or defective doors, shelves and draw faces. After a day of documenting, I sent over my list and photos and waited another 18 days for a shipping confirmation and another 6 days for delivery of the replacement. The replacements again had 4 pieces with the same issues which I don’t even want to deal with now.
I asked for compensation for not only my day to document the defects, but also my estimated 2 days to break apart the preassembled draw faces and attempt to reattach the new ones to the draws in an accurate manner. I asked for my price to be changed to the price of the “current sale” that would have given me a $500 refund for my time. I was told that that was not an option and if I needed anything else, to contact them. I sent another email to RTA today as a last effort to have them rectify the problem, but they only offered $100 off of my $10,000.00 order. I told them not to bother and hung up.
This company is a mess. Very unorganized, has no clue about customer service and by the looks of the complaints and reviews on this site and online, I am not the only one.
My advice is stay away.
