⭐☆☆☆☆ BUYER BEWARE OF DISHONEST PRACTICE!!!
⭐☆☆☆☆ 72 Hours of Silence & Weeks of Misleading Practices – A Complete Breakdown of My Experience with The Mod Projects
I purchased from The Mod Projects expecting a premium product and a professional customer experience. While the product itself is of decent quality, the customer service, refund process, and overall transparency have been appalling — and now I feel obligated to warn others.
Below is a complete breakdown of my experience with this company. Please read before spending your money here.
⸻
🔍 Timeline of Events
📦 July 17, 2025 – Shipping Label Created
A USPS shipping label was created in Los Angeles, CA. This gave the impression that the item was shipping domestically.
🕓 July 22, 2025 – Item Finally Picked Up
Five days later, the tracking updated showing the item was picked up — but still hadn’t been accepted by USPS.
🚛 July 23–25 – Movement Within Los Angeles
The package seemed to move between different facilities in Los Angeles. I assumed this confirmed a domestic shipment.
⸻
📨 Customer Service Emails
Email 1 – Misleading USPS Claim
After inquiring, I was told the package was “moving through the USPS system.” This was not true — tracking still showed “On Its Way to USPS”, meaning USPS had not received the package at all.
Email 2 – Partial Truths Revealed
Only after pointing out the tracking inconsistencies did customer service admit the product was coming from Hong Kong, with a stop at a warehouse in Jamaica, NY. This was never disclosed upfront or on the website.
Email 3 – “Goodwill” Offer
After escalating the issue, I was offered a $25 refund — supposedly to compensate for the shipping inconvenience. This was insulting, considering the issue was never about shipping but about deceptive communication and a misleading fulfillment process.
Email 4 – Policy Contradictions
After I declined the $25 offer and requested a full refund, I was told:
• They would not provide a prepaid return label
• I’d have to ship the product to Europe at my own expense
• Or I could accept a 51% refund without returning the product
None of this is mentioned in their own Refund Policy, which clearly states:
“Refunds are available within 45 days of purchase.”
It says nothing about partial refunds, international return shipping costs, or waiting two weeks for them to “figure out logistics.”
⸻
📵 August 4–7, 2025 – Silence
I sent a firm email requesting resolution, offering two reasonable options:
1. Send me a prepaid U.S. return label and issue a full refund once I return the product.
2. Issue a full refund and allow me to keep the product due to the significant service breakdowns.
It has now been over 72 hours, and I have received no response. This is especially troubling since prior messages were answered within 24 hours — until I rejected their offers and demanded they follow their own policy.
⸻
✅ The Product Itself
Ironically, the product is good:
• The case feels sturdy and well-built
• The extra bands are excellent quality
• The packaging was clean and presentable
But a good product can’t outweigh a company that appears to prioritize appearances over honesty, misleads customers about fulfillment, and changes its refund process on the fly when challenged.
⸻
⚖️ Why This Matters
This isn’t just a bad experience — it’s a reflection of a company that:
• Fails to uphold its own written refund policy
• Makes inaccurate claims in writing (which could constitute deceptive business practices)
• Only becomes transparent when confronted with facts
• And now appears to be deliberately stalling communication
I gave this company multiple chances to make this right, and I was fully prepared to write a positive review. Instead, I’m left feeling taken advantage of — and I’m far from the only one. I’ve since come across other complaints about this exact same behavior: confusing shipping, misleading tracking, and resistance to refunds.
⸻
💬 Final Thoughts
Do not buy from The Mod Projects if you value transparency, accountability, or honest customer service.
You may receive a decent product, but if anything goes wrong — you’re likely on your own.
And if you dare to challenge their process? Be prepared to be ignored.
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 26, 2025
Hi "Slap",
thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review, we truly appreciate the fact that you highlighted the parts you liked about the product itself. We’re glad to hear the case, straps, and packaging met your expectations, even though the overall experience did not.
Regarding the issues you described: your order followed a hybrid logistics route managed by one of our fulfillment partners, and the tracking updates were not communicated as clearly as they should have been. We understand how this created confusion, and we take responsibility for not explaining the process sooner. We’ve already flagged this with our logistics provider so situations like yours are handled more transparently from the start.
As for the refund process, our intention was never to make things difficult or to contradict our policy. We’re genuinely sorry if the explanations you received felt inconsistent, that’s not the standard we aim for. When a customer reports a problem, multiple people handle the case, both from support and management, and in this situation our attempts to offer alternative solutions clearly caused more frustration instead of helping.
We’re reviewing your full email thread internally to understand what went wrong and to prevent similar experiences in the future. If you’d like us to re-evaluate your case or help you close this properly, our management team will handle it directly. You can reach us anytime at [email protected].
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, your feedback genuinely helps us improve.

Hello Julian,
we’re sorry you feel this way. Our return policy is active, and we have two dedicated support team members who handle return requests every day. The chance of an email going unanswered is extremely low, so it’s possible our replies didn’t reach your inbox.

These are Dropshippers from a very…
These are Dropshippers from a very cheap well known Ali Chinese supplier they sell you a $3.99 fake Rolex band for $97 that’s 2331.58% markup !!!!
That’s a 23x inflated price increase because they fraudulently state they are in April when they are working from China.
The AP Metal Apple Watch Ultra case in their advertising it comes in a posh wooden box just like the original ap watches and the band looks great but what is sent to you is a cheap tin and plastic watch casing with missing screws and the inner protective shield bumper we measured to be so flimsy it’s 0.5mm thick that’s going to protect nothing, now this watch case is sold for £219 that same cheap tin watch are and strap is ranging from $22-$33 on the store they drop ship from which is a markup of 1028%
That’s over 10x the cost — seller’s playing the luxury illusion game hard.
It’s a total scam and their email address don’t work as they block you. I have full proof
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 28, 2025
Hello Darren,
we’re sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience, but several claims in your review are simply not accurate.
The Mod Projects is a Paris-founded brand, and all our models are designed by our team before being produced with selected and private manufacturers in China. This is very different from dropshipping generic items: designs, components and digital assets and watch faces are made specifically for us and are not the $3 accessories you’re mentioning.
The case you received should never arrive with missing screws or a damaged shield. If this happened, it’s a quality-control fault on a single unit, not a reflection of the product itself. Our team always replaces or refunds defective items immediately, and completely for free.
Regarding the packaging: the display box shown in our ads come only with cases such as the AP or Apollo models. Standard strap orders come in rigid double layer cardboard packaging, plus the external shipping box. This is clearly stated.
Our support email works and is managed by two dedicated team members. We don’t block customers, we reply to every ticket, and we’re always available at [email protected].
If you’d like us to review your order and provide a proper solution, we’re here to help.

its most likely a dropshipping store, charging way too much money for it
Response from The Mod ProjectsNov 28, 2025
Hello,
we understand why you might think that, but The Mod Projects isn’t a dropshipping store. Our products are designed by our team in Paris and produced with selected and private manufacturers in China using our own designs, components, and specifications, they’re not generic items resold at random prices.
If you have any questions about your order or want to know more about our process, we’re always available at [email protected].
