Good at first bad in the end.
So at first I was nervous about ordering from an online breeder but I did anyways and everything they said was going to happen from purchase to delivery did in fact happen and I was extremely pleased with my purchase when it arrived and how much care they take to ensure live delivery.. their acclimating instructions were pretty far out there from anything else I'd ever seen or been told before or followed but I followed them precisely anyway and had no issue with my fish being alive, eating, or not looking lively or happy once they went into the tank as others have stated in their reviews so I wasn't disappointed until I noticed white spots on 3 of the 5 fish and I noticed my home grown EBA fry also were covered in white spots I've been keeping fish for 10 years and, never ran into this problem... low and behold it was the ich these fry had been in this grow out tank for 2 months before these fish were introduced into the tank way to long to be the carriers and, as they are fry I look at them every single day multiple times a day watching for growth and color. So I contacted them about selling and sending me unwell fish whom had disease!!!! obviously I started treating my tank immediately to save my stock and a couple of days later when I received a response it was the most outrageous response that basically said our fish are fine we checked our tanks and none of the other fish have any spots and for me to take pictures and send them to them. Yeah I'm not wasting my time trying to get a picture of fast swimming baby fish with tiny white dots on them so I really wish that didn't happen because that aside I would have ordered from them again for sure but now I don't see how that's possible. I also want to add that I asked for all males they told me they didn't know which ones were male vs female at their age but you absolutely can and I knew as soon as I got them which ones were male vs female I can also tell on my fish as well as my fry which are way smaller then the fish I ordered from here so is it laziness or lack of experience???? Also I will update as they grow on their colors if they look anything like the pictures they are selling to us.
Response from The iFISH StoreOct 16, 2026
Hi Kate; Thank you for sharing your experience, Kate. We're happy to hear that your ordering and delivery experience went so well and that your fish arrived healthy, active, and eating. We're sorry things took a disappointing turn. We do want to clarify our response when you contacted us about the ich. We immediately checked the tanks your fish came from and found no visible signs of illness. We also expressed our concern about your fish and fry and asked for photos, water parameters, and a few details about your aquarium so we could better understand what was happening and help you. These are standard questions we ask whenever a customer reports a health concern. Ich can sometimes become apparent after shipping even when fish show no visible symptoms beforehand, so gathering this information is an important part of investigating the situation. Our request was never intended to dismiss your concerns. Unfortunately, without the requested information or photos, we weren't able to investigate further or offer more specific assistance. Regarding sexing juvenile fish, we prefer to be upfront when we cannot confidently guarantee males or females rather than promise something we may not be able to deliver. We're sorry you came away feeling that we weren't interested in helping. We certainly were, and our response was intended to begin that process. We appreciate your feedback and hope your fish and fry are doing well.
