4 fish have died in 1st week
4 fish have died in 1st week. Very weak display. Was anticipating buying another lot. Not after seeing results. Going back to Imperial, fish are heartier.

Was disappointed in the overall condition of the fish

So at first I was nervous about ordering from an online breeder but I did anyways and everything they said was going to happen from purchase to delivery did in fact happen and I was extremely pleased with my purchase when it arrived and how much care they take to ensure live delivery.. their acclimating instructions were pretty far out there from anything else I'd ever seen or been told before or followed but I followed them precisely anyway and had no issue with my fish being alive, eating, or not looking lively or happy once they went into the tank as others have stated in their reviews so I wasn't disappointed until I noticed white spots on 3 of the 5 fish and I noticed my home grown EBA fry also were covered in white spots I've been keeping fish for 10 years and, never ran into this problem... low and behold it was the ich these fry had been in this grow out tank for 2 months before these fish were introduced into the tank way to long to be the carriers and, as they are fry I look at them every single day multiple times a day watching for growth and color. So I contacted them about selling and sending me unwell fish whom had disease!!!! obviously I started treating my tank immediately to save my stock and a couple of days later when I received a response it was the most outrageous response that basically said our fish are fine we checked our tanks and none of the other fish have any spots and for me to take pictures and send them to them. Yeah I'm not wasting my time trying to get a picture of fast swimming baby fish with tiny white dots on them so I really wish that didn't happen because that aside I would have ordered from them again for sure but now I don't see how that's possible. I also want to add that I asked for all males they told me they didn't know which ones were male vs female at their age but you absolutely can and I knew as soon as I got them which ones were male vs female I can also tell on my fish as well as my fry which are way smaller then the fish I ordered from here so is it laziness or lack of experience???? Also I will update as they grow on their colors if they look anything like the pictures they are selling to us.

Hi Kate; Thank you for sharing your experience, Kate. We're happy to hear that your ordering and delivery experience went so well and that your fish arrived healthy, active, and eating. We're sorry things took a disappointing turn. We do want to clarify our response when you contacted us about the ich. We immediately checked the tanks your fish came from and found no visible signs of illness. We also expressed our concern about your fish and fry and asked for photos, water parameters, and a few details about your aquarium so we could better understand what was happening and help you. These are standard questions we ask whenever a customer reports a health concern. Ich can sometimes become apparent after shipping even when fish show no visible symptoms beforehand, so gathering this information is an important part of investigating the situation. Our request was never intended to dismiss your concerns. Unfortunately, without the requested information or photos, we weren't able to investigate further or offer more specific assistance. Regarding sexing juvenile fish, we prefer to be upfront when we cannot confidently guarantee males or females rather than promise something we may not be able to deliver. We're sorry you came away feeling that we weren't interested in helping. We certainly were, and our response was intended to begin that process. We appreciate your feedback and hope your fish and fry are doing well.

Hi Robert; Thanks so much for ordering with us again and for taking the time to share this. We’re really glad to hear that most of your fish are doing well, but we’re sorry that you’ve had some losses and haven’t always been happy with the size or condition of a few of the fish you received. We definitely don’t want you feeling disappointed, especially after ordering with us several times. If something doesn’t look right when your fish arrive, please reach out to us right away so we can take a look and do our best to help. Their arrival condition is useful to provide and aslo parameters in both tanks. This might help us assess why this is happening. If you'd like to look into this further with us, please contact us at info@theifishstorecom and we'd be happy to work with you on this.

Delivery was as scheduled but quality of discus was not ad good. Volors were not as shown on pictures and mostly pretty dull looking. Three died within days after arrival and one is looking very thin and not eating as it dhould slthough I have tried everything. Just not worth the shipping cost to lose half the fish after arrival. I followed installation instucktions exactly and am not an inexperienced owner.

Hi Sylvia; We’re sorry to hear you’ve had trouble with some of your fish. We always encourage our customers to contact us at the first sign of any health concerns, as we’re happy to help assess the situation and offer recommendations that may help turn things around. Fish can sometimes arrive looking dull or washed out from the stress of shipping, with their colors improving as they settle in and acclimate. We wish we’d had the opportunity to help when you first noticed the issues. Please feel free to reach out to us so we can take a closer look at what may be going on with the remaining fish.

13 of the fish were deal upon arrival. My husband took photos and tried to contact but the only method of contact required log in codes from me while I was at work and never received. No phone, no way to contact. MAKE IT RIGHT!

Hi Jennifer; We're sorry to hear about your experience. After reviewing your order and your comments, we're not sure what you mean by needing a login "code" to contact us, as our website doesn't require one. If you have an account, you simply enter the password you created when setting it up. If you don't have an account, you can still visit our website at www.theifishstore.com where our phone number and email address are clearly listed. No login is required. In addition, our phone number and email address are included in the order confirmation emails and on the paperwork that arrives with every shipment, so there are multiple ways to reach us. We'd genuinely like the opportunity to make this right. Please contact us directly at [email protected] or 516-524-6423, and we'll be happy to review the photos and the situation with you. We look forward to hearing from you so we can work toward a resolution.

Guy on the phone insisted sending the fish early because "I've already packed then up" arrived a week earlier than the date give at checkout. My aquarium wasnt fully cycled, did my best but they all died (except 2 tough corys). My aquarium was with a few days of being ready. This didnt have to happen. Anyway ordered new fish from a different place and they worked with me to customize the delivery date around weather and aquarium readiness. Those fish are thriving.

Hi Maddie; Thanks for your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear this happened. We understand how frustrating it is to lose fish, especially when you’re excited for a new order. We did issue a credit for the four corydoras that were lost, and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to make that right. Waiting until your aquarium was fully cycled would have given them a much better chance. We’re sorry there was an error on the shipment date on this end and your order arrived before you were ready. We certainly appreciate your past business and wish you and your new fish all the best. We hope you’ll give us another try and we’d be happy to work with you on your delivery timing.
