They make it impossible to collect short term and long term disability. Example: I’ve paid them for 12 years through work. Never a single claim until now. So I need to get this form. That form. And when I get all the info from my Doctor’s they always say the other papers sent in a timely manner are outdated. So I have to do it all over again. Once I had it going they cancelled it saying it doesn’t qualify. Then I had to go through an appeals system. Fortunately the appeals department is a third party. They were extremely thorough took all my information from me and all my Dr’s. I won with them. But Hartford wasn’t done with their tricks. They moved my claim into long term disability and closed my account because it didn’t qualify again. Needless to say I learned that getting disability through social security was actually easier then getting what was owed to me through The Hartford. I’m disappointed and committed letting people know what they are.

when I first started with this company it was an aarp referral they had really good rates and payments were manageable for a retiree.....since then my payments have doubled...I called State Farm and they are saving me 230.00 a month when I called Hartford to ask them to see if they could do anything,,,been with them 12 years...they said no we can not change the rates....so going from helping the seniors of the world to gouging ...dont do business with this company

For employees with open NYPFL claims, the option to schedule a call with a representative does not work. The system continuously loads despite multiple attempts. Additionally, the number of times I have had to call to correct issues with my claim and receive payment is excessive. This process is frustrating and inefficient. Individuals who are ill, new parents, or caring for a sick family member do not have the time or capacity to navigate repeated errors and delays. This experience places an unnecessary burden on people during already difficult circumstances. Significant improvements are needed to ensure claims are handled accurately, efficiently, and with consideration for those relying on these benefits.

I have canceled my policy now about 9 times, but they still wont cancel it. They continue to pretend they have technical difficulties for 2 weeks. All they are doing is to try to cheat me out of another day insuring a car I no longer own, worst insurance company I have ever dealt with in my life. These are some real fraudsters!

I used to be a Hartford Insurance customer. Before enrolling I compared their rates with several other companies. The first year went fine. The second year my premiums were raised 18%. The third year my premiums were raised 30%. I had no accidents, tickets or claims. I asked several times why my premiums increased and was ignored. Finally, I was told the increase was due to my credit rating. I have excellent credit. I cancelled the policy and switched to another company. That was over 20 years ago and still Hartford continued to mail me solicitations. I requested that stop numerous times. Finally, they stopped mailing me. Now, they mail my wife instead.

I got a qoute from them and they wer 1500 dollars more expensive than any other insurange company out there. It appears aarp is taking advantage of the older folks. They are taking money in and not giving any real deals to older folks. Do your research people.

Shame on AARP for recommending The Hartford as their insurance company for the senior citizens. There is nothing in their rates to help Senior citizens with a low cost insurance. After signing up with them, what I thought was a good rate. There was no collision or comprehensive in the policy. When I called a representative with an attitude of that I was bothering her, gave me a new rate with collision and it was $120 a month more than the insurance company I left to get better rates. They are higher than all the insurance companies listed on a brokers web page. Don’t use them unless you have money to burn.

Terrible insurance company. The took 6 months worth of payments from my account even though I was set up for monthly. Trying to get my money back is like pulling teeth. Avoid this company at all costs. They are the worst.
