Unfortunately I have to give 1 star to write this review however 0 stars would be more accurate of this horrendous company! They put the wrong book on my course list and then when I had questions about return and my order ID they refused to answer my multiple emails and multiple phone calls. Horrendous customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In response to your reply:
Nope clearly all your emails have not been returned because I have not received one single reply to the multiple emails I have sent directly through YOUR website and I have not received a phone call back from the messages I've left on the number I called again listed in YOUR website! And my school received an apology email from again YOUR company stating that a book was accidentally added to the course list and would be happy to assist with any and all returns. Not so much!

Katie, if that is the case than of course we'd be happy to help! I do not show any unanswered emails but it could have gone to spam I really don't know for sure. Email us at [email protected] and we'll be able to assist you directly. Just let us know what school you are with and what book it's in reference to so we can look into it with the Account Manager. Since we work directly with thousands of schools we'd need more information to be able to help you personally. I can have the Customer Service Manager look into your other emails just make sure you let her know what email you contacted us with previously so we can search using that. Thank you for the information!

Charge an expedited shipping fee for eBook access??
Arrogant company with archaic practices (or is it just a way to make extra money?). I was a late sign-up for a technical class... it required E-book access which the faculty and I thought would be easy process, even with my late registration. Our assumption - You place the order, pay for the book and they e-mail you an access code and the e-Book. No hard cover book needed.
Nope... they "cannot" e-mail you that code/book, it must be mailed. Why? I've ordered 100's of e-books, never had to wait 10-14 days for a code. Makes no sense. And if you want it sooner (3-4 days), expect to pay $20 for expedited shipping of a piece of paper with the code on it. Now, that's a Black Jack Pizza and 6-pack of Sam Adams... an exorbitant price to pay for a small piece of paper.
So, Amazon take note, new profit center... charge $20 "expedited shipping" for every E-book sold. You want to read that new Stephen King novel tonight... pony up a 20.
Whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm ordering that pizza and beer, now...

Hi Alex, maybe I can assist you and look into this order but I'd need an order ID to help you. If the publisher publishes an access code or web access that is printed on a physical item we do have to ship that item. Sometimes it arrives on a cardboard type piece with the code to scratch off with instructions and if it's bundled with a book it may show up inside the book as a cardboard insert. I can't really get into too much detail because I do not know what you ordered however I do know that a true ebook would not have shipping attached to it. We would email you the code for your ebook and you would redeem that code on VitalSources website it would not be a physical item to ship. As I stated though if this item is a physical object we have to send it via mail we cannot by law scratch off the code and send it to you via email it must be sent through the mail. Also if you choose expedited shipping like Next Day Air that will cost you around $20, we always recommend choosing a cheaper option like UPS Ground (Standard) or our free Economy shipping on retail items of $49 or more everyday. My advice would be to contact our customer service dept. Just click the Help tab at the top of our webpage to email us directly and we can assist you personally.

Fraudulent company who doesn't care about their customers.
I made an order through TextbookX on Amazon (Order # 002-1102119-7736234) at 10:15am and, after realizing the incorrect edition was ordered, cancelled the order immediately before 11am. I also wrote TextbookX a short letter explaining and requesting the cancellation on top of the Amazon cancellation made within minutes of the original order. Furthermore, I called and spoke with two representatives the next morning after I got an email from TextbookX stating that they close at 5pm and could not grant my cancellation request before their closing time (which is just an excuse to send the order anyway since I cancelled before 11am). The two reps I spoke to (Jackie and Briana) both told me that the shipment hadn't gone to the post office yet (which shows they aren't an honest company since they reported to Amazon that the order had been shipped early the next morning but didn't provide a tracking #) and they would make sure it wasn't shipped out. They both also told me they would call me back to confirm yet I never received a phone call despite calling and speaking with them six (yes, 6) times over the next few days all with the same conversation.
Don't ya know that TWO WEEKS LATER the book shows up in my mailbox! I sent it back and after a fiasco with their return address not being valid through the USPS, they were finally able to return it to them.
A few days after they received it, TextbookX sent me an email stating they would refund only $107.50 of my $128.99 purchase! The policy on Amazon stated this return was a legitimate refund for 100% of purchase. However, TextbookX is claiming that they charge a 10% "restocking" fee. Ok, so how is 10% off of $128.99 equalling to $107.50?!?! Even if you charge me the $3.99 shipping fee and charge 10% of the book price of $125, their math is still incorrect and they are ripping off the customer despite numerous emails explaining the entire situation and spelling out what it should be. Now they are refusing to communicate anymore and I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY REFUND whatsoever! THEY HAVE THE BOOK AND MY $128.99!
This company is AWFUL and it has been the most FRAUDULENT and WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER! Do not take a chance with this company!
In response to your response:
Hilarious that you keep trying to justify your lack of integrity. Especially since you stated you refunded me but a month later no money whatsoever was returned to me. So you had the book AND my $128.99 and tried keeping both!
The best part is that Amazon reviewed the case and made you refund me 100% INCLUDING the entire shipping cost for your negligence. Nice try but yes, you ARE a fraudulent company who tries every angle at ripping off customers instead of investing in them. Oh, and you have 20 complaints with the BBB just in the past 3 years not including the one I'm tempted to report...I wouldn't exactly say that's stellar like you inaccurately claim.

Hello Dave,
This order was sent out to you via USPS Economy Shipping 3-10 business days on 8/13 you placed your order with us on 8/12, it was delivered on 8/17. If you did ask for the item to be cancelled, once items are confirmed they cannot be cancelled this is a company policy. Once you receive the book you are more than welcome to return that item following Amazon's return procedures for a merchandise refund and a 10% restock fee, only on discretionary returns.
In this case you did not follow proper return procedures and refused the package for which we are charged a fee by USPS. You were issued a merchandise refund plus the 10% restock fee and a $5.00 refused package fee. You were refunded for the item on 9/3 for $107.50, you requested that we waive the $5.00 fee and as a one time exception and our CS Manager waived the fee and you were refunded through Amazon a total of $128.99.
As we've stated previously you were not defrauded and we've explained this to you over and over again, unfortunately at this point there isn't much we can do for you. We've been in business since 1999 and have an A+ rating with the BBB, people can post claims with BBB for issues that are their own fault but we always make it a point to respond so that people can see what actually happened as opposed to a customer's perception. If there was an error on our part we would make it right, in this case we made a one time exception and did not charge you the $5.00 fee. In the future please understand that once an order is confirmed we cannot just stop the item from shipping or reroute or stop a package during shipping. This is not feasible for a company such as ours, it is policy and as a customer it would behoove you to read through the site's policies you are purchasing from. Amazon makes very clear that each seller has individual return policies and we approve or deny certain requests based on what we can and cannot do. I'd be happy to respond to you each time you update your review however it will almost always be the same answer.
Good luck to you.

still waiting
The entire experience of purchasing my text books was enjoyable. The follow through leaves something to be desired. I ordered 2 books through textbookx direct and 1 book through the market place 3 days ago. I received a conformation of shipment on 1 of the books from textbookx direct 2 days ago with only 1 item in the shipment. I am still waiting to even be notified that the other 2 books have been sent. I paid to have them arrive by February 3rd and today is the 28th of January. My classes start Feb 2nd. We will see if Textbookx comes through and if I will get what I paid for or not.
Response from TextbookXOct 13, 2015
Lucas, thank you for putting your full name I was able to pull up your orders with us, what book were you missing and did you ever get that item? I see you're one of our partner schools, did you contact Customer Service for assistance? Let me know if I can help.

This is the one and only place I would go to for my textbook needs!
I have been using TextbookX now for over two years and have never, ever had a problem with them. They have always been very helpful and more than willingly to go the "extra mile" for me in all and any of my needs and requirements. I would never feel the need to look anywhere else for any for my textbook needs. If I ever need textbooks in the future, I will be going back to them for them....and, I will be also referring other people as well to them for their textbooks needs as well... Great company!!
Response from TextbookXOct 13, 2015
Thank you Bonnie, we love great reviews! Are you with Union Inst. and University? Let me know if so I'd love to send you a surprise in your email!

Overpriced. Out of Stock, Slow shipping
Awful, can't wait until this contract is terminated and we can get a more competent company in place.
Response from TextbookXOct 13, 2015
Jeffery, what seems to be the problem? I show you ordered a photo kit in January 2015. The photo kits do not come from us as we do not carry these types of items, they come from an outside vendor and I show this item did ship rather late but most likely due to it being a custom item put together by your school. Again, we post these items for sale as an exception for your school but we do not carry the items they are put together and shipped out via an outside vendor.

Unreliable for overseas APO addresses
I bought the hard copy of a book I needed 4 weeks before the start of class. It's 6 weeks later and still no book. I bought it again this weekend as an eBook and waited for my redemption code. Instead it was cancelled by a representative who somehow misunderstood that I needed it immediately to complete by 3rd week assignments. I'm getting a refund for both and I just bought it directly from CourseSmart.com which was cheaper anyway and it gave me immediate access. Only have a book shipped from Textbookx.com if you can verify that they will ship it via USPS priority and not UPS so that it actually arrives at an APO address. Also, I ordered my next class' textbook a week ago from a different seller and I received it already. It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience.
Response from TextbookXOct 13, 2015
Joanne, all APO addresses can be unreliable. We can only send to APO addresses via USPS per law and once an item leaves the United States for security reasons we cannot track it. We've seen packages take up to a one month to arrive at an APO address and unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it, it's not our company but the way the postal service must handle all items going to military bases. We typically do advise students if they can purchase ebooks they should do so because we cannot guarantee that any book will make it to an APO address within a week or two. Again though this isn't something our company can control it's the way items to APO addresses must be shipped.
