I learned of tastyworks via tastytrade informational videos on youtube. So much practical information is presented in easy to follow videos. I learn something new every time. Tastyworks, the trading platform, may not yet have as robust a charting software as others, but the option analysis function is amazing. If your just starting out and don't know what an option is or trying to brush up on the greeks, the analysis tab is very useful in understanding how options are priced. The support group is pretty great to. Quick response time and always informative.

The best option for the retail options trader. They clearly have a well organized and executed vision for what they want to deliver. Great management of their projects!

I am an active options trader. I am very happy with Tastytrade (TT), Chicago, Illinois. I have been trading at TT for several years. Their commissions are competitive. Customer service is very responsive. They have a new trading app for the iPad, and it is very nice. The only problem that I have with their iPad app is that it times-out after 4 hours. So, every 4 hours, you will need to log in again. TT also has apps designed for Android and IOS phones. I use the Tastytrade desktop downloadable software trading package (WinTel PC). I prefer the TT software to their primary competitors, IBKR and TDA, because it is user friendly (this is not a knock on IBKR or TDA, because they also do an incredible job). Easy to learn, took me about a day to get up to speed with the TT trading software. I do not need an incredible array of technical studies (I don’t need any studies), but if you do, check thinkorswim from TDA (and soon, from Schwab-TDA). I have not had any problems with the TT desktop downloadable software trading platform. Actually, I have not had any major problems that I can think of. Problem: TT pays almost nothing on free credit $$ balances. And TT does not offer an in-house money market account where account holders can place their free cash. Whether this is important to you depends upon whether you keep your entire account invested all of the time or (because you are trading undefined option risk positions) you hold significant free cash on the side. Problem: The Tasty mobile apps have a nasty habit of timing out. Every few hours, my Tasty iPad app shuts down and returns my iPad to the home screen. Then, I must sign in again. Not sure why this is built into the software. Let me guess what is really going on with some extremely critical one-star reviews of TT on Trustpilot. I have read these types of reviews around the internet, in various posting forums. They are generally written by losers with tiny accounts. These individuals are constantly dogged by PDT violations. This type of “gambler-trader” does not understand risk and actually doesn’t care about risk (because they have so little to lose). So this type of gambler-trader becomes angry when their broker (any broker) takes actions to limit tail (outlier) risk. This type of gambler-trader has no clue that risk can be defined at order entry. I frequently define my risk. I keep in touch daily with my brokers regarding expiring option positions which might pose risk. Tasty never prematurely closes my positions. Why would they take that action, given that my account has plenty of extra margin and is composed of risk defined positions. Addition: The old name for Tastytrade was Tastyworks. Same company, new name. I recently again tested the trading platforms at IBKR (Trader Workstation TWS) and Schwab (thinkorswim trading platform). I prefer Tastytrade. Tasty is easier to use and more intuitive. If you need a million technical indicators, maybe thinkorswim is best for you. But I trade strictly by price so I never glance at technical indicators and occasionally at charts. Try all trading platforms and see what works best for you. I use Schwab and Fidelity for checking (banking). I have a few ETF & CLO positions at Schwab and Fidelity. Schwab & Fidelity are 5 star brokers for long-term investors. Tasty is THE 5 star broker for active option traders. PS: The HUGE downside to both Tastytrade and Schwab => They have not figured out a way to stop ACATS fraud before the fact. They only thing they offer is => "if you are affected by ACATS fraud, be sure to notify us in a timely manner." In other words, Schwab and Tasty fix fraud after it has occurred. But only if you notify them right away. If you fail to notice the fraud immediately, then "too bad, so sad." If you are concerned about ACATS fraud, get an account at Fidelity (Fidelity knows how to stop fraud before it occurs).

Tastyworks is awesome!! For anyone experienced or novice I would highly recommend the Tastyworks team. Straightforward format and people committed to assisting my success. Thank you for a great product!
