My trek through TalkSpace to find a great therapist
My therapist is wonderful. She's extremely competent and knowledgeable. She's creative with my treatment plan so that it's truly MY plan, and she's open to different types of therapy. She has such compassion and the ability to help me come to my own realizations and new perspectives. I couldn't be happier with this therapist. The therapist I was assigned to prior rarely had an open calendar. When I asked her why I was only able to get an appointment once a month, she said she just hadn't entered her availability - three months in a row. She also canceled 2 appointments. Fortunately, it's easy to request a new therapist. I waited too long. The TalkSpace platform is easy to use. Be mindful when you're setting up your account. Even though I had submitted my ID and insurance card, TalkSpace entered my insurance info incorrectly. I was seeing real results after 6 weeks with a therapist when I got a notification that she wasn't a participating provider with my insurance company. I got this notice immediately before an appointment with her. Once that "room" is closed, there's no way to contact that therapist. The way Insurance companies are set up in their list-to-choose-from is confusing. This may have been part of the problem, but there's still no excuse if you have a copy of my card. I did message them, and they did reply. So that's good. Also note that 100% Tricare coverage doesn't apply to retirees. When I make an appointment, I still get the message showing that they don't expect me to have a co-pay and they'll charge me if I do. That's fine. Just pay attention. And they process several charges on the same day, not as you go along. All fine, just good to know. Overall I've been surprisingly satisfied with the quality of the providers. I think the administration behind the scenes is a machine. There's no one to talk to if you have a problem. I'm glad I didn't give up on them. My current therapist makes up for the trouble.

We appreciate you sharing your experience. We're happy to hear that you're satisfied with your current therapist and find the platform easy to use. We regret the issues you faced with previous therapist availability, incorrect insurance information, and clarity regarding Tricare coverage. We're addressing these administrative concerns to improve our service.
