My issues of the moment have to do with an aging and ill partner. I was concerned that a younger therapist might not related. It turned out to be a good match; she had family who has been down this path. She was a friendly, sympathetic listener with practical suggestions, which is exactly what I needed.

My therapist was good at listening and understanding me, and guiding me through my treatment. We connected well and his assignments and our regular appointments helped me stay accountable for taking my own steps toward healing. By the end of my 6th session I felt strong enough to continue on my own. The EAP (employee assistance program) was handled seamlessly without any financial hiccups which kept the focus on healing and not paperwork. I really appreciated that!

I was able to sign up for Talkspace through my insurance provider's page, which was convenient and made sure all my insurance info was already filled in when I signed up. I did switch providers at one point, but I really like my therapist now. We vibe well and she's already helped me in some big ways. Talkspace gives lots of options if you do decide to look for someone different. I like being able to do therapy from home, it makes me a lot more comfortable. Schedule flexibility varies by provider, but I haven't had any issues scheduling yet. I feel like Talkspace could be a good option for people who have transportation or scheduling difficulties, whether you've done therapy before or not.

Making therapy easy to fit into my schedule is key. My therapist is so wonderful and I’m lucky to have found her!

Finding the right therapist is not always one and done. I reviewed therapist specialities and background to find who may be a fit for me. I like that I could try someone else if I didn't feel the connection and that is exactly what I did. It's still a process to open up and be so vulnerable but you will figure out if right fit after at least a couple of sesessions. I was so intimidated for so long by finding someone and opening up but, in the end, I should have done it much sooner because I found a great therapist for me. I was stuck and needed some help to recognize my patterns and deal with grief. You have to do the work and it takes time. Be patient with yourself and the process but just hearing myself say things out loud without judgement truly got me on the road to healing and given tools to help with boundaries and conflict. 4 stars because the app is not great for sessions as cannot sharescreen, etc and have had issues with sound and video working correctly on both ends of session.

My Support LPCC-S is fantastic. She’s very smart and pats attention to detail. We’re in an odd situation, that may not seem so odd to her or others, but we’ve never been in this sort of ordeal and needed someone to speak to to try and decrease some anxiety. While we enjoy our conversations, we’re not so sure it’s helping with the anxiety as a grand, but it is nice to have someone to talk to about this. We thank her from the bottom of our heart for being available.
