I made it 15 minutes into my first appointment when both the provider and myself agreed that it was not a good fit. I'm not looking for medication or a medication management program. And that's what "Talk"iatry is. It's just a medication management program. The "Talk" isn't the part they want to focus on. 15 minutes, provided no service, and still billed me. I disputed the bill, and they are still holding me liable for it. My next step is obtaining my medical records for the services provided, which is none, and taking them to small claims court. I can afford the bill. That's not the problem, but this is a predatory organization looking to push medication and bill your insurance for as much as they can.

I had a scheduled appointment. I tried logging on 15 minutes early from three different devices and the meeting would not load. I tried calling to let them know and received a message saying their systems were having issues and to email them to reschedule at no cost. I did just that, and still received a $100 no show fee for something that I could not help because their system was not working. This is insane. Don’t use them!

I made an appointment with Talkiatry to find a new provider for my Escitalopram and medical cannabis. I made this very clear when I made the appointment. Ten minutes into the appointment while doing the medical history survey with the doctor (something I’d already done TWICE) she told me if I continued to use medical cannabis they wouldn’t treat me. She even told me they regularly check the prescription database. I understand not prescribing it but refusing to treat me seemed super unethical. It’s the one thing that’s helped with my insomnia. Why on Earth would I want to start over? Also I shouldn’t have been able to make the appointment in the first place. I made my current medications and requests for this appointment extremely clear. I left that appointment crying. A therapist should never make you feel like there’s something WRONG with you. I’m currently fighting with Talkiatry because they proceeded to charge me for this visit. It’s like they knew the appointment wouldn’t be completed and that getting a claim undone would be a giant pain. I don’t care what my copay is this is unethical and unfair to people just trying to get help. Never trust this company. It’s not worth it.

They say your insurance will cover the bill then send a charge of $357. 0 psychotherapy conducted yet added to the bill

Either you get a great Dr and they leave or you get an awful Dr and noone cares. Great level 1 customer support, the people answering the calls, but they cant manage any issues...so if you call and they cant handle your issue, they say they will have someone contact you and you never hear back from them. There is noone out there except for automated emails that dont address your issue. Great idea, excellent at customer acquisition, horrible at customer retention....this company wont last long unless they change this.

Trust all the other reviews and stay far away from Talkiatry. After finally getting an appointment, my Talkiatry psychiatrist, Dr. Pate, made me believe everything was fine and that I would be under her care for the future. A few days later, I was given a written notice that Talkiatry will no longer treat me because I am quote “too complex of a case.” This made no sense as I already had a medication routine that was easy to follow and I just needed my new psych to prescribe them since my insurance changed. I didn’t understand what the complexity was at all. This service ripped me off of my money and my mental stability. DO NOT USE TALKIATRY. Find anything else.

I was not happy with how Talkiatry conducted my initial visit. I was not given the appropriate information that I was being assessed as a client & may not be provided any care at all. I was told that I should seek in-patient care (despite maintaining full time employment) & then given referrals to inpatient providers which were not in my area. When I tried to have this rectified, Talkiatry did not rectify it. Given all of this- of Talkiatry's refusal to treat me, to mislead me into thinking the first visit was an assessment of the patient - provider relationship, not whether Talkiatry would take me on at all- plus, sending in-patient treatment options that were not suitable to me, & then refusing to rectify that as well- I'm shocked I had to pay this bill. I will not be recommending Talkiatry to anyone I know, and I think my experience was indicative of larger problems in the psychiatric healthcare system. As an organization that claims to be an innovator in this space, I'm disappointed by my experience.

Terrible the provider was rude right off the bat..I wanted a counciler she said she didn't do talk therapy..she did meds..that's not what I signed up for..I have enough meds..I said that's ridiculous that..there system is screwed..she said if she could fix it, she would pay off her student loans..What lady...
