TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL. Talkiatry is EXACTLY the kind of operation we must STOP. It is a SCAM and yes this is a thing evidently. I feel ashamed that I fell for this as I have been dealing with mental health for decades. I was looking for medication management. After going thru a rather convoluted online ‘intro and historical’ process, an appointment is made. THEN, most likely, you will receive a phone call from a representative asking if they can RESCHEDULE your appointment. In my case they wanted to make the appointment for the very next day. He ALSO said that they were not able to verify my insurance and that it would take a couple days to do so. I tell the guy, “NO, I do not want to change the appointment. As a matter of fact I want to CANCEL it until you guys get the insurance worked out!” It was obvious he wasn’t going to let the call end on that note, so he went on and on asking for my personal information. He acted like he didn't really know anything -- who he was actually talking to and for what reason. He had a very thick accent and was clearly outside or in a very loud call center. The next day I received text reminders for the appointment he obviously HAD NOT CANCELLED. So, I logged in...to see what was going to happen AND to avoid the $100 'no show' fee they proudly advertise. SO…HERE’S WHAT GOES DOWN: You will spend 30-45 minutes on a televisit with yes, what appears to be an actual doctor. In my case, Dr. Sabrina Ghim was certainly professional enough, spot on in her diagnosis, and her recommendations were just fine. But, HERE’S THE PROBLEM…you see, I don’t need those things. I'm keenly aware of my DIAGNOSIS. I’ve been dealing with my mood disorders for 35 years! What I made the appointment for, as they advertise they do, was medication management, specifically for ADHD. At the end of the session, Sabrina tells me she can’t work with me. But not to worry, she’s provided some great podcasts and an email with links to my local CareNow and psychologytoday.com. Even got a link for MapQuest. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The email follow up I received [and the one you will receive as well] reads like this: Thank you for taking the time to complete your Talkiatry assessment. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have any psychiatrists who can meet your needs. TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL. Can’t WAIT to get the bill I won’t be paying. Please DO NOT even consider using TALKIATRY! We need to shut this kind of thing DOWN! BTW, the CEO of TALKIATRY is....WAIT FOR IT....formerly the VP of an INVESTMENT COMPANY. Makes perfect sense.

My provider was lovely to work with, and I felt she genuinely cared - 5/5 stars for her. Billing and working with Talkiatry itself - absolute nightmare! I have a pre-funded health reimbursement account managed through my insurance provider which pays at the point of service on my behalf. I had 3 appointments, and each time they received funds from my HRA the same day it was billed. And yet each time I get weeks of texts and emails saying I have an outstanding bill, and each time I have to pull my explanation of benefits which shows the payment from my HRA and email it to their billing department, sometimes multiple times, in order for them to admit they already got paid. And forget calling them - I was literally told it would take 4-6 weeks for the billing department to give me a call back and it’s been over 3 months now and still no call back. The last one they never responded to my email with my EoB, cancelled my next appointment, and have continued emailing me claiming I haven’t paid while my HRA and EoB both show they got paid. Completely awful.

Talkiatry is a complete sham. From beginning to end, the experience was miserable. Problems setting up the appointment - including an idiot call rep, insisting I didn't have a consultation scheduled when I was reading to her from a confirmation email sent to me by Talkiatry. Then, even after saying I was in crisis, I had to wait six weeks for the appointment. Finally the appointment comes, I speak with the doctor, and she tells me she "doesn't know how to help" me because I have "too many issues going on." Huh, really??? What kind of mental health provider says that? If you can't treat mental health issues or can only deal with silly bubblegum problems, then don't advertise yourself as a mental health provider. And to top it all off? The bill that arrived yesterday. You can bite me, Talkiatry, if you think that I am paying a bill for this BS.

Their billing using the incorrect CPT codes is unethically, potentially illegal. I didn't figure out until 3 months in that they were doing this because the claims were still in process with my insurance. But now I'm on the hook for $405 and that's not even all the appointments I had. They billed appointment with high complexity, using CPT codes that required 30-40 minutes of services when my appointments , including like 5 minutes of the doctor off screen writing prescriptions and scheduling the appointment, were no longer than 15 minutes. And that length was fine for me. I was stable and did not need major changes and didn't need any 'psychotherpay' from the provider. Trust me, if you need therapy, don't get it from the same person who manages your meds, no matter how convenient. They spend WAY less time learning that than psychologists. I complained to billing and they hanged one of the sessions, but still used a code not appropriate for my appointment to get more money.

This company is a nightmare keep away as far as possible they’ll book an appointment and cancel without any reason. One you call them one person tells you your insurance is not active one person tells you the doctor doesn’t can’t see you, everyone with a different excuse. They barely speak English and they’re extremely unprofessional and dishonest.

This was a bad experience overall and having being turned away and just sent a few basic links to websites that are either inactive, not user friendly or circle me back around to doctors whom are booked far out. I am disgusted that after a simple video consultation with someone who did not listen or truly hear me. Someone who prescribed no medicine and gave no diagnosis. Someone who had your customer service agent email me saying sorry it’s just not a good fit but here’s some links, good luck. Shame on this company for that. What follows later? A bill for $384!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are all higher than the sky above if you think someone should pay almost $400 for what was essentially just a referral. Also this was on VIDEO so no vitals or any medical processes were taken for a health check. Just a video chat with an incompetent egotistical employee you have talking to people at there worst of times. I am still seeking help. Break an arm and there’s doctors all over to help. But having a broken mental state? Good luck finding someone in time and good luck finding a caring doctor who hears you in this industry. Thanks for nothing, I am a human being. Not an account number for your billing department to needlessly process a bill of $384 for providing next to nothing service.

Made an appointment for nearly 3 weeks out. Talkiatry advises they charge $100 cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice. Yet they can call the day of the appointment and cancel. I will not do business with a medical facility like this. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would give negative stars if I could

Within weeks of my personal psychiatrist merging with Talktiatry, he was that they could not prescribe controlled medications, via online, to patients in my state. My doctor contacted several state agencies who denied this claim,or law, as Talktiatry calls it. Talktiatry undermined the doctor & actual state’s prescribing laws. They were not given the option to prescribe to me, for 3 months, or until, I was able to find a new provider. This action abrasive, aggressive, Talktiatry took is MEdically Unethical! Talktiatry claims to be a Mental Health service that cares for their patients. Meanwhile they’re a Corporation that Wants their Customer’s Money. They have Spammed me, via text & email for an outrageous Bill. You’d think they’d Care More about their patient’s Health & Mental Well Being. They left me without an Excellent Doctor, who I’d recommend to anyone, but, was forced to Drop me as a Patient, bc of the State I reside in. Talktiatry also left me without Anymore Medication, that I require to function daily! How does Talktiatry not know the tremendous dangers of medication withdrawal, controlled medication or not, to one’s physical & Mental Health? Seems Talktiatry Ignores, each Individual State, & only does what Big Government expects of them, or make up their own laws, with all their vague information. They allow you to see the doctor once to inform you, you’re rejected, over geographic reasons, or whatever reason works well for them. However, they won’t allow you to Reject their Enormous Fee! This is enough to put one’s Mental Health at RISK! Shame on You, Talktiatry!
