I reached out and made an appointment with Talkitry. I came to this company bc my former psychiatrist no longer took my insurance and I'm currently on medication and only have enough til September. I explained this multiple times. You matched me with a dr and I had my appointment. 45 mins through the session, she tells me I'm too complicated for her to treat and ended the appointment. I wasn't given advice or anything to help me with finding a different doctor within the comapny. Now I have to make the a plan for when I have psychotic episode bc I ran out of medication bc this incompetent dr they hired couldn't treat me.

First red flag was the emails, literal broken english. Second I specifically requested for a specialist in a specific illness and the psychiatrist I matched with denied they did once on call. Third they were rude due to me and condescending. I had connection issues out of my control leading to them ending the call early. Because they canceled the call early I got charged for no showing because of an issue I had no control over and had explained this as well.

My wife found Talkiatry via ZocDoc which stated that our insurance was in-network. Lo and behold, it wasn't, and no one at Talkiatry told us so until we received a bill for >$400. For an appt that was nothing more than the doctor getting to know my wife. ($250 for the consult as well as $175 for the "psychiatry" component) We have now contacted them twice to claim false advertising for not telling us that we were actually out-of-network but to no avail. They express some vague sympathy and put in a "ticket" but we still get billed. I'm a doctor myself, and my schedulers tell every new patient whether or not they are in-network within the first 20 seconds of the phone call. This is therefore a serious deficiency on the part of Talkiatry.

Total ship show. Third world country service. They barely speak English and nearly impossible to escalate a concern. If you didn't require mental health care You will when you talk to the illiterate customer care coordinator.

Wow, I read reviews. Not these reviews though. First bill was 383 dollars. I will find help elsewhere. They must pay google to be at the top of the page. That’s unaffordable care and is the exact opposite of what you would expect from a company “willing to help” people in need!

I have seen 4 different psychiatrists since 2018 so I am aware of the general intake process. I am not new to psychiatry. Though my doctor was great and the appointment was straightforward, I was expecting to be billed for just a new patient appointment but I also received a mysterious $104.55 charge for psychotherapy that I absolutely did not receive. When I called the billing department to ask about this extra charge, the gentleman on the phone told me that a psychotherapy code is applied to any appointment greater than 15 minutes. My new patient appointment was already billed for 45+ minutes. I asked then if this code was going to continue to be applied for all future appointments REGARDLESS of the psychotherapy I will not receive and will not expect to receive and the man sighed at me and essentially told me yes. Hilarious customer service behavior. The Talkiatry intake form also literally asks you if you are interested in therapy, medication management or both and I had specifically indicated that I was just interested in medication management. Truly at a loss of words at this predatory billing practice - from what I understand insurance billing codes already include time spent with a patient. Unclear how charging for whatever the f they want with ZERO clarity is legal or ethical.

Wow, iwa about to contact this service for my mental care and at the last minute decided to check the reviews, and thank goodness I did. I've dealt with online company's like this one before so I believe what all these reviews are describing, and I won't be wasting my time and money on Talkiatry. Thanks to all the reviewers sharing their experiences.
