Make no mistake, Talkiatry is overwhelmingly about profits, not patient care. Talkiatry is a for-profit mental healthcare corporation whose CEO in 2020 during the pandemic came directly from his in-office job at an investment management firm. They have no understanding of patient-centered care. They place the lifestyle wants of their physicians & the joint profits of their "partners in the insurance industry" above any efforts toward serving patients. Their doctors enjoy 9-5, W-2 based jobs, & are not available to patients except during actual appt times. Between appts, any concerns about medications prescribed or about new or worsening mental health issues must be addressed without advance consultation by the patient's PCP or in the ER. Confidentially of record keeping is questionable, as is patient choice of providers. Talkiatry has been rapidly growing & scooping up the majority of private practice psychiatrists on the East Coast, all the while eyeing rapid business expansion westward. They are building a monopoly that will, over time, provide less quality & less choice for the wide diversity of patients who require care. The healthcare system is broken & the mental healthcare system is tragically broken, certainly all the more so since the pandemic,and as Talkiatry spreads its for-profit wings across the country.

If I could leave 0/5 starts, I would. This platform is extremely expensive, they really should have said this is mental health for rich people because I wasn’t aware that this would be $358 a month for talking to a psychiatrist and starting some cheap meds that really don’t do anything. They make it incredibly hard to cancel and its really unfortunate that a they aim to help mental health when financially and mentally this has put me through the worst stress. I strongly encourage anyone reading this PLEASE do not sign up for this it is the equivalent of a scam! The doctor may have been real but it is all about money and this experience has left me in tears.

I received a call from customer service after completing my initial intake, choosing a doctor from the list that was provided to me when I signed up, and having my appointment confirmed. I was told my appointment needed to be cancelled with the provider I chose from the list of matched providers they gave me when I signed up because he won’t see anyone over 39 and doesn’t do controlled substances. Then I am told I can’t find a new provider and book online so I need to do it over the phone with customer service. I stated I would not choose someone over the phone without seeing the person’s bio and services provided. I was then told they would email me a list of my “perfect matches” which they did and it’s just a copy and paste of an alphabetical list of the first 10 providers by last name. So much for “perfect match”. I was given a link to search to read their bios, but I cannot see anyone’s schedules which would be another huge determining factor in choosing a provider. So, based on what I am told, I need to use the link to read bios and find a doctor, call customer service to schedule, and if their schedule doesn’t work for me I get to do it all over again. Do you see how that’s ridiculous? This is a huge turn off as my initial experience with this company. I will not be proceeding.

Asked about their billing, they sent me a flaky email that said that if I had any bills it would be sent to my account. So Okay, check my account, nothing. Next couple weeks I get hit with a whopping $384 bill then a $270 after that! Medication didn't even work well. Absolute horrible company that has NO transparency, stay far far away from this. Because of this experience, I want to stay away from psychiatry. Unbelievable that this company isn't considered a scam.

I made an appointment, signed in 15 minutes prior. There was an internet issue on their end. I called multiple times to let them know that I was not able to reach the person with whom I was supposed to have an appointment. They rescheduled me for the next day. Then, they sent me a $100 bill for a missed appointment!

Absolutely terrible company. Do not use them for anything. They don't give you any prices up front. Not even a ball park thing. They don't take insurance in the same way other providers do. I have a CO pay when i go to my family doctor. But got hit with a 400 dollar bill for 45 min zoom call with someone. A ZOOM CALL!!!!! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Does anyone actually receive service from this company? They just collected a bunch of my demographic and insurance information, scheduled an appointment for a call the following morning and immediately received an unhelpful email saying they do not have anyone in my area that can help me. They provided a link to a very generic website that I could have Googled myself if I wanted and suggested I try finding a psychiatrist on there. Psychiatrists in my area are booking out months to YEARS so that was kind of the point of looking into telehealth services. Very disappointing experience. Do not recommend. I currently use Done for my ADHD management, which I also do not recommend due to inconsistent quality but they are certainly more helpful than this company.
