Horrible experience. My appointment was automatically rescheduled to another time DURING work. I work in a nearby state. Not only did the provider show up late on the first appointment- 15 minutes late. He HUNG up on me when he told me he couldn’t help me in the state I worked. Flawed system. Ten days to switch providers w/them and 21 days to an appointment. I suggest paying and using better help. I’d pay $60 to not deal w this platform or their late and unprofessional doctors

SCAM. My "provider" charged hundreds of dollars for 10-minute appointments. He relied on generic questionnaires to diagnose me and knew next to nothing about my actual symptoms. He cancelled an appointment, and Talkiatry tried to charge me an extra $100 fee. It's a money-grubbing company with money-hungry "doctors." Avoid - it'll only make your mental health worse.

I have been suffering with panic attacks and depression most of my life from 13 onward. I was driving to work one day and had a massive panic attack where I thought I was going to actually die. I called my wife and she did some research. Due to my work schedule, and a lack of available options locally, she found Talkiatry. I was skeptical but went through the process anyway. I make an appointment, supposedly it’s covered by my insurance, all goes well for the first visit. People need to be aware that Talkiatry acts as a middleman. It’s not uncommon that providers have a legitimate practice and also work from other platforms. He starts me on a medication regiment, and all has been going well. I assume my insurance covered it, as I had not heard from anyone about billing. After about 4 months I finally receive a bill in the mail. It’s a notice that they intend to send my unpaid balance to collections. I check my email and also received a notice that they were going to deactivate my account due to non-payment, I contact support and find out I owe over $1,500. I live paycheck to paycheck, so I set up a payment plan with them to keep my account active. $40 every two weeks (my pay cycle). That’s $80 a month. My provider had switched to 3 month supplies so I wouldn’t need an appointment as often. Just today I get an email that my appointment for January 28th has been canceled. Any time an appointment is cancelled they never actually tell you a reason, or if it was your provider or Talkiatry itself. I try to login to see about rescheduling, assuming my provider got overbooked or something of that nature. I can’t login. It says my “account has been made inactive.” I have no access to records, no contact information. I contact support and they transfer me billing after verifying payment was the reason for my account being deactivated. It’s 7:30 PM EST, they close at 8:30 EST on weekdays. I’m placed on hold until 8:30. I try to call back and get a notice about being closed until tomorrow. I have no doubt in my mind this was a deliberate attempt to not have to deal with my problem. Despite payments, they still closed my account. They send you a letter that basically says “We understand some of you may be on medications you can’t just discontinue, but here’s the suicide prevention hotline.” This is not an issue with my provider. This is an issue with this company. They don’t actually tell you how much each session costs, you can’t find ANY information on costs on their website. This is nothing but extortion by people who claim they are attempting to help the mental health problems in this country. I am now more stressed than I was before the panic attacks, because I know a dangerous withdrawal from medication is in my future. Please don’t continue to endorse or promote this company. There are hundreds of other cases like mine you can read about online. The fact that they are allowed to operate still blows my mind, and I wish I had done more research before getting involved with them.

If I could put negative stars I would. DO NOT USE. SCAM. They were not upfront with their fees. I was charged over $800 for 2 visits and I did not get the help I needed. Not to mention I did not get a bill for my first visit until after I had the 2nd visit not knowing the astronomical fees they would charge. Their sole objective is to rip you off and they could care less about the patient. I do not know how they continue to operate and claim they are trying to help people. If you want your mental health messed with while getting absolutely crushed with the amount they charge. Give it a try… otherwise STAY AWAY!

Don’t do it. This company should be ashamed of themselves. They are fooling with people’s lives and mental wellbeing. They will drop you as a patient, leaving you without medication, without notice, and then continuously give you the run around or just flat out not reply. Dangerous stuff. Please save yourself the hassle and protect yourself. These doctors don’t give a crap. Edited after they “responded”. I HAVE REACHED OUT. CALLS. EMAILS. MULTIPLE. What a generic response, definitely don’t appreciate it. Don’t lie to these people saying you take ANYTHING seriously. Because you don’t. That’s crystal clear.

Absolute scam. Fraudulent billing, terrible customer service. And before Talkiatry responds with their copy/paste "we take complaints seriously... You can contact us at..." Please know I have multiple times and you clearly do not. Terrible experience. Don't do it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - 100% a scam. I input my insurance information through zocdoc and scheduled an appointment. They verified my insurance and stated in email I have a 0 dollar copay. Then after my appointment they sent me a bill for hundreds of dollars saying my insurance wasn't accepted. Now they are sending my bill to collections... Classic bait and switch.
