My provider is always 10+ minutes late to the scheduled meeting times. A little unfair that I cannot leave the meeting or cancel after 48 hours or I’ll be charged $100 but they can consistently be late by 10+ minutes

Much better than nothing, a little better than some
Visit are sometimes rushed , doctor seems to having trouble remembering my issues and has more than once sent in the wrong prescription. I guess the biggest hindrance is the network platform, it can be hard to log into and can be accessed with a cell phone .

Care 4 stars, but customer service 1-2 stars
I am satisfied with the care I've been receiving.
The psychiatrist and therapist have been good, and I appreciate them both and they have been understanding and helpful in my journey. The psychiatrist is also pretty responsive to messages especially regarding medication questions and side effects. The psychiatrist I've met with 3x, and the therapist I've met with 5x at this point now.
The customer service experience has been pretty poor.
1. Initial intake - they are focused on just matching you with the psychiatrist and provide little to no information on how you can match with a therapist (this can also only be done after you've met the psychiatrist). I really just needed more clarity on the process and it would have been fine that I match after.
2. Immediate booking required or provider options expire and change.
- Psychiatrist profiles were provided online. I needed some time to evaluate who would be a good fit and took a few days to consider my options. When I went back to the website, my account was frozen (because I didn't book within a few days) and had to call in to unfreeze it. The provider options also changed. This was difficult for me because I needed some time to assess my options.
- Therapist options: I was given a choice from 2-3 therapists at a time. This was done over the phone and again they asked me to select immediately. I had to request for the profiles and they showed me how to find them or they emailed them. I often need to evaluate based on profiles that the provider will match my needs. You have to decide quickly or the options will change the next time you call in.
>> Overall the process for finding a provider was difficult for someone who has specific criteria and needs time to review profiles and decide.
3. Transferring medical records took 1 month. At other places, this takes 3 business days. The process was broken and needs to be fixed:
- I was told I filled my HIPPA forms incorrectly (which was not the case)
- They did not receive the records, which were emailed twice to the email address they had requested it be sent to
- After following up, I got another email address which I requested my prior provider send it to and they were able to process it
>> On the phone ~5x following up to push the process along + additional email correspondence.

Easy service to use, but keep a close eye on your billing!
Finding a therapist OT psychiatrist was very easy, and they take most insurance plans. My only issue is they can be redicuously expensive. I meet with my psychiatrist once every few months to check in on how my meds for ADHD are working. Last call was 27 minutes. Was charge $105 for call (fine with it), and was charged an additional $166 facility fee? It was a virtual call, and this is a bogus charge. Customer service fought me on the second charge for two days. Then dropped the $105 fee, but are still charging me a $166 facility fee. Their billing fees scammy at best. Legit psychiatrist though.

For a psychiatric visit, it’s normal to see more than one code, since the doctor is providing more than one type of care (evaluation, management, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation) within a single visit. Also, billing codes haven’t evolved the way care has. To insurers, an office visit and a virtual visit are the same and are covered at the same rate. As virtual care becomes more common, we expect the billing codes will catch up. These codes are monitored by a team of coders to make sure everything is accurate and your insurance company gets all the information they need. I did like my Doctor but.....
I did like my Doctor, but nobody reached out to tell me that he was out of network with my insurance. The communication regarding insurance was negligent so you really don't know how much it’s going to cost until it gets processed through insurance. Some people can't afford $400 to see a Doctor, that is why I used this app. Had I known, i would've reconsidered..but I guess that's the point. The inital "pre appointment process" was a bit confusing. I got an email a week before to answer questions but i couldn't log on to do it until 48hours before my appointment. If you're going to use them, be sure to reach out to your own insurance company and ask if the Doctor is in network with them because Talkiatry will not let you know. You have to do your own research!
8/18- they emailed me back to let me know they’re re processing those claims and it was an issue with their tax ID#. I’ll update when it’s been reprocessed.
8/29- cancelled an appointment I had 2 days before (cancelled on Monday for Wednesday) and got charged $100. Super awesome.

Love my docs, their billing dept. is evil
The thing is I love the psychiatrist and therapist I've connected with through Talkiatry. However the Talkiatry billing department sucks. For one appointment I went to log in and read a message that they were having sitewide tech issues, so I would have to reschedule. They charged me for a no show. Then I got an email saying my doc had to reschedule. I rescheduled. Again I got charged for a no show. When I finally got through to someone I was told they would refund me as a one time courtesy!!! And then they said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to receive a refund. I mean, geez. Plus they make it difficult to pay your bill. If I didn't have such wonderful docs I'd be out of there.

50/50 so far
50/50 so far. I liked my doctor, he was very nice and listened to everything. The check in process was annoying, nothing saved, the doctor had to update everything during the appointment. Its the only online mental service that has billed my insurance which has made everything easier. You have to "check in" to the appointment five days before which I don't like.
