This cold-as-ice therapist actually made my anxiety worse. After one difficult hour, she said she couldn't help. What are they there for if not to help? It was crushing really.

I tried Talkiatry a few years ago but gave up when I made five appointments, all of which were cancelled before I even met a psychiatrist. Now to show Talkiatry is not only incompetent, but stupid - I tried to make an appointment using ZocDoc. I found three doctors who accepted Medicare and filled out forms entering my personal info, including my Medicare number. So even though these three doctors did accept Medicare, I was not allowed to confirm my appointment because - (we're talking Medicare here) Talkiatry only made appointments for people between the ages of 18 and 64. INCOMPETENT AND STUPID!!!

Parents beware... I wanted therapy/psychiatry to help my daughter with anger. Shadia Maria Ibanez was her psychiatrist, after the first one cancelled the day before. In TWO meetings she placed my daughter on 25 MG of Zoloft, told her it would maybe make her feel worse before getting better. Also stated me, mom, did not need to be present for future appointments. 2nd appointment, Maria asked how she was, asked about medicine, my daughter honestly said she felt more irritable. Maria immediately started in about her being admitted in Mental hospital! To the point, she told my daughter "if you do something to yourself, you will be away from your loved ones forever"! She called CYS, State Police and Ambulance services to come take my daughter!!! Thank God we were out shopping and my husband talked with the services saying she was/is fine, they left. I have recieved a total of a dozen calls, texts, emails all with the guise of "concern for her safety"! After calling to file complaint, Talkiatry ended all services for my daughter! No trying to find someone else, nothing. Overall, a horrible excuse for a mental health provider! DO NOT USE

If I could give Talkiatry and Dr. Jessica Grimes a 0 star review I would. I waited half of an hour for an appointment and she {dr. Grimes} failed to show up. The one time she did, I got kicked out of the (quite horrible) module that talkiatry uses. I will NEVER use their services again. Not even if they paid me to. My appointment was cancelled, and I had no part in it.

I came to Talkiatry genuinely seeking help for anxiety. I specifically chose a psychiatrist over a regular prescriber because I wanted one provider who could handle both medication and therapy. Instead, Talkiatry split the services anyway — Dr. Wygant handled medication and immediately referred me out for therapy, defeating the entire purpose of choosing a psychiatrist in the first place. The referral itself was a joke. Dr. Wygant recommended ERP therapy for my specific condition, but the therapist Talkiatry referred me to didn't even offer ERP. Dr. Wygant had no involvement in selecting the referral and knew nothing about their qualifications — Talkiatry's system just picked someone. After spending 15 minutes trying to get in touch with the one counselor they referred me to, I found out they weren't even available. So I was billed over $1,000 for medication management I could have gotten from my PCP, plus a therapy referral that went absolutely nowhere. Speaking of billing — three visits totaling less than 90 minutes combined cost me $1,066. Two of those visits included psychotherapy billing codes for therapy that was never provided. No coping techniques were taught. No therapeutic exercises were conducted. No homework was assigned. The provider referred me to an outside therapist for therapy while her company billed me for therapy she never actually provided. When I submitted a detailed written billing dispute outlining the specific CPT codes and why they were inappropriate, I received identical automated emails directing me to call their billing center. No one ever addressed the substance of my dispute in writing. The final straw was my prescription refill. My 90-day mail-order prescription was cancelled because the pharmacy couldn't reach Talkiatry to verify it. When I messaged explaining this and asked them to resend it to my local pharmacy, they ignored what I wrote and sent me the same form response four times telling me to schedule a video visit. They literally would not read my messages. A 30-second check would have confirmed I never received the medication. Instead, they held my prescription hostage — a medication you cannot safely stop abruptly — demanding I pay for another appointment just to get a prescription that was already written and never filled through no fault of my own. Dr. Wygant herself was knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care. But the organization around her is built to extract maximum revenue from vulnerable people seeking mental health care. Automated non-responses to billing disputes. Psychotherapy codes billed for therapy never delivered. A useless referral system. Prescription refills gatekept behind billable appointments. $362 for a 15-minute medication check. If you're considering Talkiatry, understand what you're signing up for. The psychiatrist may be fine. The company behind them is a billing machine that treats patients as revenue streams. I've filed disputes with my credit card company and my insurance provider's Special Investigations unit, and I'm transferring my care to a provider who actually reads their messages. Save your money. Find a local psychiatrist or have your PCP manage your medications. You'll get better care for a fraction of the cost.

I helped my friend sign up because he lives in the middle of nowhere and needs help. They told him he was too suicidal for them to help. Absolutely worthless.

I made an appointment to be screened and eventually tested for ADHD. Despite my request to be set up with a psychiatrist, I was set up with a nurse practitioner. I brought this up several times. When I had the appointment, the mental health worker did not screen me as I requested, and tried to end the appointment after 30 minutes. It was nearly impossible to get this person to finally do a screener for ADHD and when she did, she wouldn’t give me the results. That was the end of the session and she told me she was referring me to another mental health provider. This was absolutely terrible service. When I complained, they simply took my complaint and closed the ticket with no investigation and no information. This company does not care about patients and the health provider seemed underqualified and unable to perform her job.
