Swap.com is what ThredUp USED to be like!
If anybody remembers what ThredUp USED to be like, that’s exactly what shopping at Swap.com is. First of all, they don’t charge you a $2 “restocking” fee like they do now at ThredUp. It’s difficult to actually know if a piece of clothing will fit you well based on description alone, so by eliminating that fee, you have that piece of mind to try different sizes and styles without being penalized for not liking it if it doesn’t work out for you. I also think their return policy is fair, so if you are not willing to pay return shipping, at least they’ll give you store credit so you can “swap” it for something you like later. They also don’t hassle you in case there is an issue with an item and it happens to be their mistake: ThredUp, on the other hand, will make you jump through hoops just to get a full refund, including the necessity of contacting customer support. Swap.com also works with FedEx, which is a much more convenient mail service than USPS—again, a service ThredUp USED to use before switching over. And I also find the pricing to be more fair on Swap.com as well—maybe because they don’t seem to spend a lot on advertising campaigns like ThredUp does. The things I would improve with Swap.com however is more selection, more discounts for already-existing customers, as well as lowering the free-shipping threshold back to $50. But otherwise, always a great shopping experience! If they continue to maintain this type of service, Swap.com will have customers for life!
