Years of paying and creating
Years of paying and creating, and now my trust is gone I am extremely frustrated with how Suno treats its long-term paying customers. I paid for this service for years and invested a great deal of time, my own lyrics, ideas, and creative knowledge into my songs. Of course, I received a service in return. But those songs also contain my own creative work and effort. I did not download every song immediately because I expected to be able to access and download the results I had already paid to create later. In my experience, that is how Midjourney works: I can still download images I created during my subscription, even though I no longer have an active plan. Suno’s new download restrictions, however, also apply to songs created before the changes. I find it outrageous that downloading my older Pro-created songs is now severely restricted. I already paid to create them. Even more frustrating is the uncertainty around commercial usage rights. The earlier guidance said that songs created during a Pro subscription could be used commercially and that those rights would remain after cancellation. Now commercial usage is also tied to downloading through a paid plan. What does that mean for older songs I created under Pro but only download after my subscription has ended? I cannot find a clear, unambiguous explanation covering that situation. Paying customers deserve commitments they can rely on. I also entrusted this platform with my own lyrics and ideas. I cannot establish whether or how extensively Suno has used those contributions beyond generating my songs. That makes fair and transparent treatment of my creative input all the more important to me. Reports from other users about declining quality in the newer models add to my concerns. But my main issue is already the treatment of existing customers and the songs they created under earlier terms. I cancelled my subscription and have now completely lost trust in Suno. That is particularly disappointing because it was an exciting tool with enormous potential. For me, Suno has squandered that potential through its business decisions. I sincerely hope open-source alternatives emerge that give users lasting control over their results.
