Sundance and the Pony Express
Sundance shipping and handling charges are high. You may think that this leads to a faster and more efficient receipt of your item/s. You would be wrong. Sundance no longer sends you a confirmation email when you place your order because they do not want you to know how long it takes to actually ship an in stock item (and if it isn't in stock, they may continue to change the backorder date without any notification... you will need to go through the order process - without pressing 'place order' - again to see what current backorder date is for an item to get an idea of when you MAY receive your item). Apparently, getting an in stock item shipped out can take several days. Once your item is shipped, good luck getting accurate information from a customer service representative as to when you might receive the item. Sundance shipments always take a LONG time to make it from ship date to actually receiving the item. If you call to ask why your package has been sitting at a FedEx facility for three days after traveling for 5 days across a few states, customer service will tell you that they can't contact FedEx until after 7 business days to see what is going on. Or, a customer service representative may tell you that there were too many packages on a FedEx truck, and that is why it wasn't delivered that day (as estimated in their email message), but would be delivered tomorrow... even though tomorrow tracking will indicate that a message had been sent to Post Office to pick up the item. Why is it that a moderately high end company's shipping process operates like we are still using the Pony Express? This is just my most recent order experience (and it is only for one of the items on this order), which will be my last. My years of ordering from this company are over. Great items, bad customer service and shipping process. Not worth the headache.
