I was always a big fan of Sundance, before Sundance Living, as it was original, rustic, and creative. Still creative, but the price is really over done. I purchased a necklace for $175 (caged pearl). Looks great! But the quality feels like it is plastic. Just be aware. Definitely not worth $175. Will take this company off my fav list.

Meh.
I found a huge variation in the quality of items I’ve purchased from this company. Some things have been disappointing and some things have been fine. Rarely have I purchased something I’ve loved. I no longer shop there but will probably be getting the catalog for the rest of my life.

Sundance website catalog design reboot is a fail
I know Sundance did a website and catalog design update but it’s falling flat. No style or artistic magic like the old catalogs. They were magical. The new catalog feels like it’s trying too hard to be free people with minimalism. Prices are still expensive though, no upgrade there. Last two orders had no tracking ability so I wasn’t sure if I was getting them or not. No email updates on status. Sundance you need to do better.

Sundance so-so
I came to know the catalog by another customers catalog and loved the look and styling. If anything I poured over photos of models to admire and emulate the styles with clothes I currently have.
I agree that shipping/handling in addition to taxes on already pricey clothes is a burden and mostly will buy sparingly. Shipping takes 5 to 10 days not fast for the price but I live in Northeast not out West where Sundance does business.
I ordered a few items last two years since learning about the company. It is sometimes hard to judge what clothes will look like from pics angle, lighting changes colors, tucked in shirts etc. Returns and exchanges seem to take a long time to process and customers have to be patient in that regard. I have read from long-time customers that quality control not the same as once was. For detailing of clothes and price paid, quality should be better (for environment as well as textile industry seen as environmentally degrading business).

Not in love anymore
I've been a customer for years, but I am well and truly tired of the high shipping/return charges. (Clothing sizes are not standard, so ordering is always a gamble.) Jewelry is another gamble. Prices are high and quality inconsistent, even with the more well known artisans. Also, why does their gold jewelry not bear a hallmark?

Beautiful selection of BOHO clothes BUT overpriced
Beautiful selection of BOHO clothes. I love the styles, they ship quickly, but I agree with other reviews, it is overpriced.
(Also, Sundance Catalog - you should know you are being ripped off by a company named Anniecloth.com - they are using your photos and offering knock offs - or defrauding customers -at a fraction of the price.)

Great Products, Overpriced Items, and Snobbish Telephone Attendants
I was torn when deciding on the rating, but here is the problem. While I like the products offered and the quality, there are two things that rub me the wrong way. First, the price. All products in the Sundance Catalog are heavily marked-up. For a company that is led by Robert Redford, who wants to give back for all the success that he has earned, it seems as if he is not thinking about giving back to customers themselves. Neiman Marcus has high mark-ups to their merchandise, and we all know this, but they don't claim that they are giving back. Moreover, even Neiman Marcus has free-shipping or discounted shipping. But Sundance Catalog has among the highest shipping prices around.
Why the extra-high prices and especially high shipping prices? Perhaps Sundance Catalog customers are paying higher prices to fund struggling artists that are part of Mr. Redford's philanthropic goals, i.e., his giving back. Whatever the case, there is an odd dichotomy there. Either say that you are going for the profits without linking the clothing sales to other philanthropic goals, or lower the prices and show everyone that you want to be a philanthropist across the board.
But let me be perfectly clear: allthough overpriced products characterizes Sundance Catalog, this alone would not keep me from ordering from time to time, as my pocketbook allows. What I find most difficult to take is the snobbish culture of the Sundance Catalog telephone attendants. I have witnessed this many times before, but let me illustrate with my most recent purchase.
I have just placed an order for two items from the Sundance Outlet that has an additional 40% off promotion. There was also an offer for free shipping for any order over $100, which mine was, so I applied this to my order. After checkout, I did not receive a confirmation in the mail from Sundance so I looked at my bank and saw that Sundance had made the deduction for my purchase already. But I also noticed that the price collected by Sundance was higher than what it listed at the checkout. So I called Sundance to find out and I got the typical Sundance telephone attendant: superficially courteous but ready to show me my place if I question too much. I asked about the price difference and indicated that I had not received a confirmation by email, and only knew of the total price charged from my bank. The telephone attendant informed me that I was charged for the shipping because I was already benefitting from the 40% price reduction and I could not receive two promotions at once. Moreover, she added, since I was ordering from the Outlet, my items were already reduced, and then further reduced by the special promotion. Adding all of these savings together, I should be happy and not question the shipping. I guess $20 for two two items weighing probably around 600 grams must be something I should not question when ordering from Sundance since it must be expected that Sundance customers have extra money to burn and wouldn't question such a pittance.
About the email confirmation that I hadn't received, the telephone attendant told me that I should have received a confirmation, and that perhaps I hadn't checked my Spam. So I checked while she was on the phone, and I also checked my Social Media and Promotions folders. I reported that I found no email. The response from the telephone attendant was to tell me that perhaps I should check well. I told her that I had. So she told me that another email would come, and I asked if it would wait while I was on the phone. Her response was that she couldn't wait because the email could take 20 minutes. I went on to thank her for her help and I was asked if there was anything else, to which I replied "no, thank you, I'll just wait for the email." The telephone attendant then scolded me with "but I told you that I can't wait with you on the phone." This was not what I intended on saying (that I wanted to wait for the email with her). But it surprised me that she would respond this way even if she thought this is what I meant. All she needed to say was something like "it should be there is 20 minutes or so, thank you for being a Sundance customer" or something like this. But this impatient and belittling response is not atypical. I have felt this mistreatment in the past from Sundance telephone attendants. Maybe $300 orders are too small for them to be nice, maybe ordering from the Outlet puts me in a lesser category of treatment for them, or maybe questioning $20 for shipping (which is quite high in today's online standards when shipping for most merchants is quite minimal or free) is too crass for the telephone attendants to stomach. But I sure hope that this culture does not reflect Robert Redford's values, and it is only the result of some careless and ignorant HR or Online Sales manager who does not know how to train telephone attendants so that they treat people with care and dignity. Whatever the case, I hope that Robert Redford does not continue putting his name and company name to this kind of snobbish business model. I urge you to raise the awareness of your employees not only to environmental matters and responsible paper use, but also to being respectful to all customers, equally to those who order from the Outlet and during additional reduction promotions as those who order in the thousands and never question your shipping prices. This situation is not isolated, please do something about it.
