Sterling, A First Advantage CompanyReviews of sterlingcheck.com

The title of my review sums my experience with Sterling. Also, they asked me to resign from my current job and provide the with evidence that I have done so, despite the fact that my potential employer clearly advised me NOT to hand in my notice from my current job until my background check has been successfully completed.

unfortunately there is no -ve rating. they are running scam.. in one of the background verification, they send an email to another employee to clear background verification done and skip HR..this is fraud company. Hiring organization Or customer - beware of hires if they are verified by this company.

I wish I could give 0 stars or a negative rating for this incompetent company. I have never experienced a background check do ask for payroll information where I have signed a non-disclosure agreement with my employer(s). It seems that they have crossed the line (re Privacy Act). Their intention is to collect payroll information and then sell this information to other HR companies.

Incompetent Horrifying to think that this incompetent company - if you have the misfortune to come across Sterling - has a big hand in your life. Hopefully there are competent alternatives. If not, take this job back in house: this will save you time, money and maybe negate the bad impression you are currently giving future employees. UK

Most incompetent, arrogant and disrespectful in the field. I had a background and criminal check run by another company in my prev job and everything went fine. With these scums it's a whole awfully different story; they're demanding to fill manually many forms and they reach out to me via email every 2 days with yet another request. How about sending all requests in one shot instead of bothering multiple times a week? Also, if you ever send them an email for support they simply ignore you. Utterly disgusting. Quit your jobs and shut down!

Very bad customer service, nobody knows what they doing, keep sending me email and askme to provide same document everytime

I am struggling to get through a background check with this company and it is one of the most frustrating things I've ever been through. I supplied consent to contact my current employer for verification, and almost a week later Sterling decided to tell me that they couldn't get the information needed. I had to then send in W2's to prove my employment history. I decided to do a bit of overkill, and I sent them the last 3 years of W2's, because I don't have time to play this game with them. In their email, they explain that I could go to the IRS website and get the documents needed. They *provided* the link to the IRS "Get Transcript" website. I got my transcript. I did exactly as Sterling told me to... and it still wasn't good enough. I followed THEIR instructions and yet, I still didn't give them what they needed? Absolutely absurd. I've done background checks before and flown through them, as I have no adverse history, but this experience has been a living nightmare. I'm waiting to hear on this job, one I'm really excited to take on... but now I'm scared with the way Sterling's consistent incompetency is going that I will lose the job. If you're an employer, or have a decision in the hiring process, do not use this company. Do not do it.

I hate giving them 1 stat as well. I've been waiting on a bank ground check for over a month. Also tod something different everytime I call. The position i was hired for has already been filled because this is taking so long. Last week i applied for a different job and already have that background check back. They went thru hireright. I lost my apartment. My car and my children now have to stay with their grandparents for their lack of concern to do the job that they ate hired for. Its ridiculous to be a company that does such a poor job. A competing company done in a week what they ate now going on 2 months and still haven't done. They say it's because magoffin county hasn't updated their website. Magoffin is on the other background check. When I ask them whom I need to contact to get this done. Your not suppose to contact anyone. No I'm not. thata your job. And you ate not doing it so if you're dependong.on sterling to get a job. You won't get it
