Sterling deceived employer clients.
Their employees are unprofessional, their policies are not transparent and they are not fair to candidates. Moreover, Sterling has in some cases deceived its employer clients about their ability to verify and obtain information. Legislation in many countries does not allow commercial organizations to receive information about arrests, priors, and criminal records. What information then, and where do they get it from? But the main thing is the sales "service", right Sterling? Beware of this company.

Form extremely buggy and got crazy…
Form extremely buggy and got crazy slow. No amount of clearing cache or restarting computer helps. Logs you out with no timer and does not save your work! As others have mentioned the address area is a nightmare. It keeps trying to find your address even when you want to manually type it in. It then messes with the country. If country gets removed and you fix it it removes the address. I agree with others that the exact dates need to be gotten rid of. It takes forever and also does not tell you how far back to go just not to leave any gaps. I clicked next and it had deleted other info like state for driver's license and it made me go back. Tick tock! Called support and they were aware of the time-out issue and the saving work issue. Mind boggled that employers continue to use them. And I heard the reports are slow. I hope not. We shall see. So frustrating, wasted an entire afternoon on a 20 minute form. It also says you may need to upload documents so have them ready. Does not specify which ones. Just two "maybe" examples. Not an issue if you don't have a timer and it saves your work!

unprofessionalism and outright sabotage
The hiring company, Bausch & Lomb, engaged Sterling to conduct a background check on my candidacy with an expected timeline of 7 to 15 days. I uploaded all the comprehensive documents into their system and started waiting. After two weeks, the company requested a couple more documents, and after dragging out the check for a month, they issued a report stating that:
They were unable to contact my former employer (even though I provided all necessary company contacts, colleagues' contacts, and tax authority letters confirming tax payments at this workplace).
They were unable to verify information about my criminal record in my country of residence.
I contacted my former colleagues and found out that no one had called them, no requests were sent to the official email, and apparently, no verification of my previous job had been conducted at all.
I requested an official document from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Police) of my country stating that I have no criminal record, arrests, or other criminal records and sent it to Sterling, whose employees simply refused to accept and verify this document.
I tried to open a dispute on this issue, but I was also refused. Meanwhile, I wasted a lot of my time, spending half an hour waiting for operators on the phone, who would transfer me from one department to another, each time clarifying the details of my case again.
In other words, Sterling did not obtain the information and did not complete the check. The question is, why are you then taking money from companies and for what?
As a result, the hiring company Bausch & Lomb lost me as a promising employee (even though I had previously received an offer), and I lost the opportunity to work.
I am confident that Sterling's incompetence causes significant economic damage to its clients and the United States as a whole.
