I have a background check pending as of July 20th to the present. The pending search is for Criminal records. After 18 days of having my completion dates revised continuously, my current date is Aug.13th, I am completely appalled by the complete incompetence of this company. I found my court records online in 10 minutes for free. If you are an employer reading this please for the love of God find a different company. If you are a candidate for a role DO NOT waste your time. Offer to provide your prospective employer with the records and by pass this headache of a company altogether.

This company is taking FOREVER to complete my background check. It is literally costing me money and putting a strain on everything. Ive tried multiple times to contact them with no response.

Pros: UI is modern. I had to complete a nuanced background check for my employer and everything was emailed to me very efficiently. Cons: The company search feature for employment verifications is trash. I had zero positive matches. I worked for Sterling for a decent amount of time and they could not even verify my employment from when I worked for them. For a company that prides itself in verification accuracy and ease of use, that is a pretty significant swing and a miss.

this company abuses their staff in India, my sister in-laws team leader (in Mumbai-Mr.Rajender Bhode) communicates her that I will beat you with slippers. is this way we treat our staff?????

This background check company is the absolute worst. Very unprofessional and I had to help them do their job. I called the county they said they were waiting on after the background check was already 6 weeks in. The county clerk said it was only a 3 day process, then gave me the proper information to give to Sterling to get it done. Sterling member happily took down the information and asked for more information like the court number & court officials name. They still took an additional 2 weeks bringing the total to 8 weeks for a background check which was too late for I already landed another job that used another method for background checks taking less than one week. Good luck! Customer service is terrible!

Absolute shocking company! Waiting weeks and still awaiting for a DBS to come back. Unfortunately I have had no choice to use these as the company I applied for a job uses these. I have now been out of work for weeks because this company take far too long. Definitely avoid at all cost!!

I completed back ground check with Uber eats, it came back saying I had failed the right to work in the UK. I Uploaded and driving licence along with other documents, share code from HMRC, utility bill (next day I received an email from E-on, to change the provider, probably they sale our identity). Uber say to contact sterling then sterling say contact Uber. Very Unprofessional!!!

They almost ruined my career. They could not have obtained a references from 2 of my companies even though well established - British Airways, DHL.... what a nightmare they were.... send 7 emails with my contracts, payslips and they would not located it.... If you are an employer, please do not use them... have mercy for your future employees
