WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY OF THEIR LOCATIONS 1. SO LOUD: We booked in Trastevere, Rome. The only disclaimer on the posting was "This is a central location and is prone to noise at night, especially on weekends." It should have said: "You will only be able to sleep with earplugs, noise will be intense from 8pm to 4am, EVERY NIGHT." This is no normal amount of noise, it's pointless to have a place for people to stay when it's this loud. 2. CONSTRUCTION IN THE BUILDING: We paid $1200 for 3 nights. 2 days before check-in we got a text: "We also wanted to let you know that there are some ongoing construction works in the building from 8am in the morning. These works are not on us but we apologize for this inconvenience and we are always available for any questions." This was not disclaimed on the website or communicated before they charged my card. With 2 days left, I couldn't dedicate time to find a new place so we were stuck with it; I asked the to give us a break and refund some of the cost for the inconvenience and they said it was not their problem as they don't own the building. The whole inside of the building was covered in dust, cardboard, and taped walls and noise. Construction started at 8am and until 6pm. Any other hotel would have not allowed customers to be on their property. BAD MANAGEMENT CALL, worse customer experience. 3. MISLEADING: I asked one of the construction people when did they start the construction and it was days before I I booked. Basically, they decided to entrap us after charging us. 4. MAINTENANCE: The bathroom flooded every time you showered in the main bathroom. The entire floor was covered with water that we would have to 'squidgy' with a towel... OVERALL one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I wish I read the reviews of the company before. NEVER AGAIN.

Beyond corrupt, expect to get ripped off. I booked a room, then had to cancel it due to travel change, they issued a credit, I have the email from sonder clearly stating the credit amount, how to use it and the expiration date of July 2023. Upon trying to use it they said it had expired and that no credit was due. $1800 down the drain for nothing. Little wonder why the stock is at 70 cents a share, they will be bankrupt and gone in 6 months

If I could give less than one star I would. VERY Very sketchy business. Avoid at all costs. This was my second time trying to book with sonder and once again a day before my reservation my booking was cancelled and I got an email saying that “sonder takes security very seriously & with that being said my stay was turned down”

Booked a room in Detroit, Michigan and saw the building was not safe for customers. Many nonresidents sitting outside the hotel and it appeared they were not leaving. Inside there was no security or welcome staff - just an empty desk. I waited until someone came down to let me know that my room was not ready. I asked if I could leave my luggage somewhere so I can take a walk while I’m waiting and the room I was brought to for storage was open for all customers to just walk in and take their things without security. You can imagine I just held onto my bags. Once inside I saw the elevator and hallways were not clean. On the floor of the guest hallway before entering my room I saw that there were several resident rooms slightly left open and woman’s dirty underwear was placed outside one of their doors. The carpet has a large stain of something…Someone was also yelling on their phone. It made me think the place was used for …well you can just imagine. I decided to leave the place immediately. I asked for my money back and the company refused to refund me even though I didn’t spend a single night with them. Spent months disputing and they still won’t refund. Terrible company with fake photos about how clean and classy their accommodations are. Don’t waste your time or money. Go elsewhere.

Terrible company! we booked to stay in accomodation months in advance as im running in the Paris marathon only to have property cancelled a day before we travelled due to maintenance problems with hotel,We were offered eventually somewhere else so we said reserve this and were then told that wasn’t available after all. So we then had no where to stay. We have used another company now to book our accomodation and now trusting we have our full refund as suggested. This is currently not in our account as yet!! Do not recommend this company at all.

Do not use this company. I booked accommodation in Washington DC. They subsequently advised Hotel not available and offered 2 alternatives or a refund. The alternatives were not suitable and so I advised them and asked for a refund as promised. I am having trouble getting the refund and have had much correspondence with them. I do not recommend them.

Absolutely terrible log-in process. You need to upload docs and photos, and it better be a good photo or they'll make you retake it (DL or Passport). The log in requires a cumbersome and difficult alphanumeric entry, and every dot and dash better be perfect. An extra annoyance: every time you book a room with Sonder they make you do all this over again!!! You also will need to enter a facial recognition program in order to book a room!!!I will not use again. Using an ordinary hotel is like heaven in comparison to this awful company.

Booked via Booking.com but got numerous emails insisting I complete checking in MONTHS before our visit. Didn’t respond to my question about how this affected the cancellation policy. I eventually checked in but had a proper run around trying to validate my id via biometrics (groan…I just booked a room)! Spoke to their support who assumed I was a complete idiot. Eventually established (myself) that their system wouldn’t work on Apple iOS or Safari (ffs - it’s 2023. Some people have Apple products). Apartment was ok, but very noisy. Coffee machine broken but was replaced when we eventually saw an actual person. One of those companies that think I.T. Is great but then forget the basics.
