The Sold.com website says, “We believe in putting our customers’ needs first. There’s no pay to play with Sold.com. Every recommendation is based on what is best for the homeowner.” However, that is not true. They get you to sign up and then want you to "buy your zip codes" at a "discounted limited time price" of ONLY $50 per zip code and that guarantees you are at the top of the list. So experience aside or ability aside you are pushed down if you don't participate in their zip code program. This is what a "pay to play" referral program is... so not sure how they claim they are not one. Then they want a % of the sale also going back to Sold.com. Be careful and know what you are signing up for! ***since it won’t let me respond to their comment. I am a top agent in the market with OVER 70 closed transactions last year. So if that isn’t a top agent…. WHATEVER! They base it off how many sold in a specific zip code not your overall production. Don’t let their comments fool you! Love how they say I am “apparently not a top agent” when they don’t know my production! Basically like I said, pay to play.

Hi Kevin - SOLD.com is totally free to join and free to be eligible to receive referrals. Top agents only pay when they close deals. We connect consumers with the best agents in the business and we rank our agents based on their performance. We use their MLS ID to verify their MLS transactions and we also use a number of other data points, like agents transaction history with SOLD.com referrals. Because we are a success-based company, we have every incentive to connect consumers to the best agents. Since you didn't provide your full name or any contact information with this review, we don't know who you are and can't pull up your account. If you would like to share your full name, we would be happy to look into your account. If you are in the top 3 agents in your market than you definitely don't need to pay to sponsor a zip codes (or "pay-to-play" as you put it). You will get volume because of your natural rank and performance. But yes, agents who are not in the top 3 of agents in their areas, have the opportunity to participate by sponsoring zip codes to "boost" their rank. We view this as a good thing. It gives all agents the opportunity to work with consumers, grow their business and increase their rank by providing good service and converting deals. If you close over 70 transactions per year (individually) - than I would guess you are in the top 3 of agents in your markets so you wouldn't need to pay. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss your rank, we would be happy to assist you and explain this all.
