We love our Retract-A-Gates! They are fairly easy to install and easy to use. The gates are more attractive than most other types of gates because they are unobtrusive - when they're closed across our doorways they blend well and when they're opened they retract right into a holder on the side of the door that you hardly notice.

I bought from this company back when my kids were small and this was the only retractable gate in the market. It was such a fantastic gate and I sold it used to another family with small kids who were also very happy with it. I recently bought another to control my very large, anxious dog. Wasn’t sure about it for this use, but the dog doesn’t try to jump on it at all. It works like a charm, and is very unobtrusive in our hallway. Love the streamlined look, smooth operation, and easy installation. Glad you’re still making a quality product even though there are now cheap knock-offs. Well worth the money.

This gate works very well. Easy to use and looks good. The employees are excellent at customer service. I recommend that if you have a larger dog that chews a lot, do not leave dog unsupervised for long periods of time since no product like this can be destruction proof. I highly recommend this company

Better than I even expected. Easy to install. Easy to use, but my 2 year old isn’t able to open it. I can use it one handed. And to top it off it looks great. Very pleased with my purchase.
Response from Smart RetractDec 23, 2019
Hi Brooke—thanks for the wonderful 5-star Retract-A-Gate review. Retract-A-Gate is designed to be very easy for adults to operate but would be difficult for small children to open the baby gate. A small child wouldn’t figure out the lock on the Retract-A-Gate baby gate unless they were shown how, since you must push down and turn at the same time (kind of like child-proof caps). Please let us know if you have any questions at [email protected]. Thanks, Deanna at Smart Retract.
