Hi--thank you for being a wonderful Retract-A-Gate owner and for your 5-star Retract-A-Gate! Thanks, and let us know if you have any questions. Deanna at Smart Retract.

This is the 2nd gate I have ordered from you. I bought 3 years ago to block off my stairs from my dogs and it worked so well that when I needed a longer one to block off the hot tub from the dogs, I bought another one and it hasn't disappointed me either. I just hope it stands up to outside winter and summer weather. Delivery was very fast!

HI Debbie and thank you for being a fantastic customer. Retract-A-Gate has been extensively tested in wet, rainy seasons and hot, dry summers. We have also tested the retractable safety gate outside during a full northern winter with flawless results. With that said, we do recommend you bring the Retract-A-Gate inside during freezing temperatures (simply unsnap the safety gate from the brackets), to help prolong its life. Anything, including Retract-A-Gate, which is left outside will have a reduced life compared to only indoor use; but you can feel confident that the retractable safety gate will stand up well to outdoor use. Thanks, Deanna at Smart Retract.

This thing is awful. My dogs broke right through it and damaged the wall when they knocked it down. Waste of money.

Hi Vicky--We are surprised and sorry to hear you are having an issue using the gate with your dogs, as we have not heard from you previously. The issue you described is very unusual. When the installation instructions are followed, the safety gate has a push-out force of 200 lbs. and has been tested for that type of application. We take pride in helping customers, so I’m sure we can help you find a solution to this problem. Please contact our Customer Service at 877-588-2530 or by email at [email protected], so we can assist you further. Thanks, Deanna at Smart Retract.

We used the gate to keep two rambunctious young puppies from escaping down the stairs off of our front deck. The gate works perfectly and is easy to open and close. We have a large, busy family so the gate gets used A LOT and has held up well to the abuse (and to a couple of intense thunderstorms).

We are very pleased with the retract a gates. We bought 3 and they give us the security we need for our year old granddaughter. She can see through them and they are a soft mesh so she won't hurt herself if she bumps into them.

This gate is perfect to use for our pool deck! We have little ones, but didn’t want to have to drill holes into the composite posts of our new deck. So we loved the option of having a reliable gate with no holes! This gate is absolutely perfect for keeping dogs and toddlers on or off of the deck. High quality & worth the price.
