Perfect gate for our home
Perfect gate for our home. We have one at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom. Never had any issues with our 1 year olds getting past it or messing it up. Easy to pull closed when needed, and out of the way when not needed (eg during naps and bedtime). Definitely worth the investment.

Great product
Great product. My toddler keeps trying to climb over hard gates but this one doesn’t give him a bar to grab onto. We use it to close off the kitchen when we are cooking. It’s so much easier than adjusting a hard gate to fit and opening and closing is much less of a hassle.

Hi Jeff--thank you for your "Best gate on the Market" review! We know it is tempting to buy something cheaper, but the old adage of “you get what you pay for” is very true here as well. Thanks for being a Smart Retract customer! Deanna from Smart Retract

Love these gates
Love these gates. We still have one from 10 years ago. Our 2 young kids and dogs are sometimes rough on the gates and they take the abuse well. These gates are well made and stand the test of time. Worth the extra money for something made in the USA.

Hi Jonathan--thank you for being a multiple Retract-A-Gate owner. Many of our customers have had their safety gates over 10 years and we just love hearing about it. We know it is tempting to buy something cheaper, but the old adage of “you get what you pay for” is very true here as well. Thanks for your wonderful review. Deanna at Smart Retract

This is such a helpful product
This is such a helpful product. We have a very small house, so huge obtrusive baby gates are out of the question. I needed something to keep the baby in and the dogs out. This gate is great! Make sure to set it right above your baseboard, it won't work correctly if you don't have a level wall to work with. It is very strong and gets opened and closed all day with no issues.
