Deceptive Business Practices

Smalls - Deceptive Business Practices. Shady Shady. AVOID. I decided to buy the Smalls Sampler, a package of 10 cat food items for about $33. Went through the process, answered a bunch of questions about my cats, hit purchase, then, was told that Smalls had enrolled me in their auto-shipment (priced exorbitantly!). It also said I could easily un-enroll on my account page. Ok. I spent 30 minutes attempting to access my account to no avail, even going through the set up process again, only to be prompted to buy the sampler again. I did this several times There is no way to set up an account without making another purpose. I had no confirmation email for the order. Finally I googled "Smalls cat food scam" and lo and behold, I'm not the only one with this issue. Apparently this - not telling customers it's a subscription, not actually giving customers access to their "account" page, has been an on-going issue for at least the last two issues. People said only if you complain loud enough do the Smalls customer service people start groveling and issuing fake mea culpas about their system malfunctioning or whatnot. It's been two years - do you think it's because Smalls didn't fix their bugs or because it's intentional? I texted and emailed the company stating in no uncertain terms to please cancel. They wrote back saying they cancelled, but that I had been notified prior to purchase that this was a subscription service. No. I had not been informed before purchase. Recall I went through the account set up/sampler buying process multiple times trying to get into my account. Smalls customer service just flat out lies. This is a shady business. Avoid.

Smalls is a subscription-based service that you agree to upon check out, and we ship your second order about 2 weeks after you purchase your first box. We communicate this on our website, at check-out, and in follow up email communications - I'm sorry that this was not more clear. Once you place your very first order, a Smalls account is automatically created for you using the information provided at checkout. It is possible that an incorrect email was entered hence the issues with logging in and no heads-up emails being sent about your orders. I would love to look further into this with you, so I have sent an information request to you in the meantime. If there’s anything we can do to rectify the situation or assist you further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your feedback and hope to improve your experience with Smalls in the future!

Game changer
My girl is old with multiple health issues including IBD. She is very sensitive to additives and fillers resulting not only in skin and fur problems but also nausea/vomiting. Smalls has eliminated those issues for her. Her fur is soft again and her skin not oily like when she was consuming commercial foods. Nausea and vomiting are a distant memory as well. Thank you Smalls, for giving her back her quality of life!

Smalls takes way too long to ship the food!
Although only 2 of my 6 cats enjoy the food, I believe it is great food, and I wish my other cats would be willing to switch. What I REALLY REALLY don't like, is the way they schedule the deliveries. The customer has to bend to Smalls's schedule. When you place an order, you don't get it a few days later, no, you have to wait up to 10 ten days to receive it! Today Friday Oct. 18th, I placed an order of 28 packets, and it won't be shipped until next Friday, Oct. 25th which means that I won't have the food before at least Monday, Oct. 27th!!!!! For God's sake, what kind of a schedule is that? In my previous correspondence with their customer service, I mentioned this problem several times, yet nothing changed. This is really annoying and I may stop ordering from them in a very near future just because of that.

It's disappointing when a service doesn't meet your expectations, especially when you're trying to provide the best for your pets. I recommend continuing to communicate your concerns to our Cat Concierge team. Additionally, all orders processed each week are queued for shipment in the following week. We begin shipping all those orders on Tuesday and stagger the shipments based on geographic area. All packages are scheduled to arrive by between Wednesday-Friday. Your cats' health and happiness are the priority, and finding a solution that works for both you and your pets is essential. We’re a Smalls fam now!
I thought I was feeding my cats well with high quality canned food but after about a month on this the difference is amazing. They love it, their litter box is easy to clean with very little smell, they’re more energetic. We love smalls! Only thing: it would be great if the smalls container was microwave safe!

My cats love Smalls
My Maine Coons love the food especially both pulled versions. They also love the cow flavor as well. I've noticed less stinky little boxes, and cats seem a lot more excited at meal time than before Smalls.

Highly recommend Smalls
I was searching online for healthy cat food and came across smalls. I read great reviews and decided to place an order. My cat Lenny absolutely loves the food and goes crazy every time it's time to eat. After he started eating Smalls, I noticed that his litter box wasn't as smelly as it was when I first got him. His previous owner was feeding him store bought wet cat food. The people at smalls are also awesome and quick to respond to emails. I had questions about how much to feed my Lenny and they were very helpful and also had a box arrive late (carriers fault) and food was thawed out. I let them know and they immediately sent me a replacement box at no charge. A+++ for this company!

My cats absolutely love this food!
My cats absolutely love this food. I wouldn’t say they have less stinky poops but they do seem to have lots of energy and my Bombay has less diarrhea. I’ve never had to contact customer service, deliveries always arrive on time and packaged very nicely with dry ice to keep everything frozen in transit. 10/10, highly recommend.
