My cat suffers from feline hyperesthesia syndrome, which can be incredibly difficult to manage. I have been exploring different diets for years to try and help with the skin irritation, anxiety, and daily vomiting, but she is VERY picky. I wish I had known about Smalls sooner! I got her the smooth fish and much to my surprise, she took to it right away. She is also rarely interested in treats but again, much to my surprise, she went bonkers for them immediately. She's only been on Smalls for a couple of days, but so far we're so pleased with the results. She hasn't thrown up once, which is unfathomable. Seeing her feel better is pure joy and I'm so excited for her little kitty future.

Received my entire shipment either completely or partially thawed and was told several several times that per smalls policy this was acceptable.

We completely understand your concern. Out of an abundance of caution, we previously followed extremely conservative guidance. However, our Operations and Food teams have been running tests to evaluate the safety of our food in transit. With our most recent findings, we can confirm that some thawing in transit is completely normal and that the food is still safe as long as the packets are cold to the touch. This is further supported by USDA guidance updated in Sept. '24. Warm packets cannot be re-frozen. If the food is warm, the packets seem "puffed" with air, or if it smells off in any way, please dispose of the food and let us know!

My elderly cat Precious transitioned into smalls very smoothly, he's experienced less vomiting. Overall, health seems to have improved, and he seems to thoroughly enjoy smalls. Highly recommend to all my friends/ family and crazy cat moms. PS- GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ASWELL!!!

Problems from the start with things not being shipped on time (per email from them) and items I ordered not being available for several shipments etc. They don’t even let you choose the replacement. They decide what to send you. My cat only really likes the pork. Each shipment is supposed to come with treats for the month. The latest one did not only have no treats and no dry ice so the packages started to thaw out but also no corn-based packing to stop the packages from slamming them around during shipping. When I complained about the shipment they just told me sorry, not shipping you the missing treats but adding it to next month’s shipment (guess they just want me to tell my cat not treats for the month) and telling me the packages are fine to feed to my cat! Horrible customer service and utterly unreliable! Not worth the money and constant aggravation.

The idea is good. I think it could be improved by the price. Way too much for cat food that’s supposed to have simplified ingredients. I wanted to try the trial supply and see if my cats would like it. They didn’t care for it very much I thought they would really like it but they didn’t. I never made a profile or anything I was under the impression it was a one time purchase. I got emails encouraging me to start my next purchase. Then they suddenly began to charge me for an upcoming shipment. I explained to customer service through text but they said I could not get a refund or stop the shipment because it was already at the warehouse. I hate that they did this to me because the order is 3x more then what I paid for the trial size and now I will have cat food my cats don’t want to eat. They canceled my membership that I don’t remember having when I was looking through the emails to see if I could create an account just to make sure there was no reoccurring subscription I didn’t see that there was it just brought me to the beginning page for the quiz. I took that as okay I created an account but obviously it doesn’t have anything to do with my first purchase if they don’t have that on their record and no where did it say anything about my next shipment. The customer service person said that it could have been an email that got lost in the spam folder. So i guess that means it’s my fault? Very frustrating, I wish they would have just stopped the order. Or refunded me and I could have send it right back to then when it got here.

We understand your frustration and disappointment with your Smalls experience. It's definitely not a good feeling to receive a large shipment of food your cats won't eat. We apologize for the confusion and the trouble you've had. Smalls is a subscription-based service that you agree to upon check out, and we ship your second order about 2 weeks after you purchase your first box. We communicate this on our website, at check-out, and in follow up email communications - I'm sorry that this was not more clear. In the event that a subscription order is processed, all requests for order cancellations must be received via email or SMS by our team before 6PM EST Friday evening. We also send out Heads Up emails on the Monday or Tuesday before an order is set to charge! We regret that we were unable to stop the shipment once it reached the warehouse. Our policy is that we can't accept returns on food items for safety reasons, and we understand that this adds to your frustration. We appreciate your feedback and please let us know if you have any further questions, or need any other assistance!
