To clarify, you only need to turn off the power for about 10 seconds, not 10 minutes, to pair the remote. After restoring power, you can pair the remote by pressing and holding the light button for 3-5 seconds. The successful pairing will cause the fan light to turn off. Maybe the 10 minutes you saw is how to reset the ceiling fan in troubleshooting. If you saw this "10 minutes" in other places, please let us know so we can correct any misunderstandings.
